Passed by this book numerous times because the title just gave me the shivers. What good could come from a crime as heinous as book burning? I love Max Gladstone's stories, so I finally read the plot synopsis. Needless to say, few books were burned in this tale.
These four authors do a fine job of telling a tale about The secret Vatican Special Archives, where teams are tasked with putting down magic, hiding it from the public and locking any tangible evidence away. Of course, the source of this magic is mostly demonicly possessed books.
Entertaining, good action, fantastic characters, plus the weird and wonderful magical beings versus the nasty demons, now mix the Vatican in the middle and it's a recipe for a great story.
