I like the 8" skillet. It's nowhere near a five-star pan, but I'd give it 3-and-a-half stars, not rounded-up. It's heavier than the 8-inch pan it's replacing. It's hard to find a small skillet with lower sides at a more shallow angle, like this has, that allows you to easily flip an egg. It has a normal-length handle. Those are good points.
The handle gets hot even on a smooth top electric stove. There's a warning on the package, but it still came as a surprise to me how far the heat had travelled up the handle. I don't like being limited to medium heat - it's a frying pan, for pity's sake.. Those are negatives and for me they out-weigh the good points.
It's worth what I paid for it, but not a penny more.
