More stretch and superior flex makes the jd short a first choice for yoga, running and training. The high performance fabric thrives under pressure, giving you greater support where and when you need it most. An elastic waistband provides comfort and a sure fit. Articulated seams reinforce the quality construction.

The first thing I found when trying to find yoga clothes for men is that there just aren't a whole lot of choices. Running shorts are either too baggy or too short, tending toward either more fabric than you want during a particular asana, or a "big reveal" when it's least desired. I found these prAna shorts on Amazon, read the generally positive reviews, and decided to give them a shot.
From the moment I first put them on, I was sold. Although they don't have a drawstring (which, I think, would be a good addition to any 2.0 version), they are very secure. The fabric is wonderfully soft, and just stretchy enough to "give" but not so clingy that nothing is left to the imagination, if you get my meaning. There is no inner liner, so some sort of undergarment is in order; I like a pair of moisture-wicking briefs.
These shorts are the next best thing to performing asanas in the buff, without all the embarrassing public nudity arrests. They are tight enough that nothing gets between you and your poses, yet not so clingy that you feel on-display in mixed company. I love my prAna shorts so much I immediately purchased a second pair. They're comfortable to wear even if you don't do yoga, but if you do, I encourage you to give them a try. You too may fall in love with your shorts. No one else has to know....
These shorts are snug enough that I can not worry about adjusting them for certain postures or asanas; they don't ride up, I don't have to worry about my junk showing through, and they hold up well. I've had mine for about 1 year and practice Bikram / Hot yoga an average of 4x week. These shorts have held up well over a year and approximately 100+ washes (2x week). They've held their shape and size & stretch well... the only issue I have is now after practicing hot yoga consistently for a year, I need to order the next size down. Very well made, durable, and I recommend them.
In my opinion, many people mistakenly invest their yoga budget dollars on fancy mats. The truth is, most mats will work. I still practice on my $8 cheapo mat that I bought from Ross about 8 years ago, and I practice A LOT.
Most male yogis at the studios I practice at wear either board shorts or something like a basketball short. For standing balancing postures, like standing head to knee, those wearing long shorts need to hike up the short to allow the leg to lift. In my opinion, it's a distraction, having to adjust your apparel as you enter an asana. I have practiced both ways, and I personally feel that not having to thing about adjusting my apparel allows me to be more present in my breath and practice.
The product stretches enough to support even my midsection without sliding down. They are snug without being too tight. Allow better flexibility than gym shorts. I highly recommend this product.
I'd rather just have reasonable pricing on all the sizes of shorts they offer.
As to the quality of the short, I have three pairs, and they're fine. They could use a drawstring, as mine are now starting to feel very loose as I practice.
