Since the moment I began reading this wonderful book, written in real spanish from Argentina, I could not stop the reading.
I remember a month I spent in Buenos Aires, so I agree with another reviewer who says the city is alive and one more of the
characters in the book.
Many details in the book are different from the movie. Clearly the movie was updated for faster development, visual effects, and
a modern feminist touch.
It is very hard to say which one is better, my husband and I have discussed about this several times, but we always say they are both GREAT!!!!
Being of Argentinean origin, I particularly enjoyed the Castellano (not Spanish) of Sacheri. The book is written in a conversational style that may confuse someone who has studied Spanish in school, but brought memories of childhood to me. Buenos Aires is one of the main characters, that only one who has lived there all his life, as Sacheri has, can describe.
I just spent a thoroughly satisfying weekend reading the book.
GREAT SCREENPLAY, IN MY OPINION, A FASCINATING BOOK AND AN AMAZING MOVIE.
I WILL RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE!! GO AND SEE THE MOVIE IF YOU CAN!!!
