At just eleven years old young actress Lia Frankland has become one to watch in the entertainment industry, quickly becoming known for the dynamic characters she creates on screen. Last year, she appeared opposite Charlize Theron in the critically acclaimed, Focus Features film "Tully." Directed by Jason Reitman and written by Diablo Cody, "Tully" tells the story of Marlo (Theron) a mother of three who is gifted a night nanny by her brother. Hesitant to the extravagance at first, Marlo comes to form a unique bond with the thoughtful, surprising, and sometimes challenging young nanny named Tully. Frankland shines as Sarah, Marlo's eldest daughter. She received a Joey Award (Canada, 2018) and Young Entertainer Award (US, 2019) for the role. Born in Vancouver, British Columbia, Frankland began her journey in the entertainment industry at just four years old, taking vocal lessons and falling in love with musical theater. At age six her parents enrolled her in acting classes, and her coach immediately recognized her innate talent. With Frankland's parents' blessing, the coach passed along some scenes to a handful of top agents in Canada and within a week she was signed to an agency. Frankland's first film credit was playing the bullied outsider Avery in the Lifetime movie "Betting on the Bride," for which she won Best Principal or Supporting Actress in a TV movie (age 9 - 18) at the 2017 Joey Awards in Canada. On the television front, she has appeared on The CW's hit superhero series "The Flash," as well as Freeform's supernatural series "Dead of Summer." When she isn't on set working Frankland enjoys playing the piano, guitar, dancing, singing, and making slime out of household items. She also is multilingual and speaks English, Spanish, French, and Greek and is determined to teach her pet lovebird Twinkie to speak in all four languages.
