5.0 out of 5 starsVery interesting book, with a lot of facts about death that you will learn!

This is a very interesting book, I like the way it is laid out, in alphabetical order, it makes the book fun to read and easy to remember where you were last if you don't use a book mark.

1.0 out of 5 starsMade up “facts” and political pseudoscience make it a brutal read.
Reviewed in the United States on February 15, 2021
I can’t even with this book. I really wanted to like it, but like other reviewers have stated this book is SO full of errors and made up facts that I’m double checking almost everything as I read. Vaccines are not proven to cause autism, and they knew that is 2006. “Patient” does not come from people being told they need to be “patient” by doctors. That’s just lunacy! It feels like the author just came up with comical definitions and explanations for facts, and presents them as truthful. Ugh. Return window closed or else I’d send this back where it came from. I’m in medicine and love good morbid med books, but this is a real turd. If the facts were correct it would be reasonably enjoyable.

1.0 out of 5 stars Interesting read, but author clearly did not verify certain “facts”

EDIT: Giving it one stars now (photo included).. Walter Freeman died of cancer in 1972, an event not even close to what the book says. Where did the author get their “facts”?

I enjoyed this book for what it was, but got to the point where everything was taken with a grain of salt.

Especially after they were talking on cults and began to talk about the Order of the Solar Temple and completely confused them with Heaven’s Gate. Perhaps verifying all information before publishing would be a plus, considering how the author claims to have put a lot of time into researching for this book.

I loved this book first time around. Opened it recently and one of the first entries is about vaccines causing autism. Nope. In the trash.

Enjoyable except for the glaring errors - getting the year of John Lennon’s murder wrong is just ridiculous. Largo needed a competent editor...

3.0 out of 5 stars Fascinating but riddled with errors...

I am a fairly morbid person so I find books about death to be fascinating. This book did not disappoint in that regard; I found it very interesting and entertaining. However, as other reviewers have said, there are many mistakes in this book. There are factual errors regarding the deaths at Disneyland and the Heaven's Gate cult, for example. These errors were so glaring that I do not know how the author could have screwed up his facts so badly. Even the most basic of research would have eliminated these mistakes. So although I found the book enjoyable to read, I could not trust what I was reading. Anytime I came to a subject I didn't already have prior knowledge of, I would wonder if what I was reading was factually correct. It tends to ruin your reading experience if you feel like you have to do your own research to confirm what you have read is true. I hope they re-release a corrected version of this book; that I would rate five stars. As it is, I can only give this book three stars.

I was a little hesitant on purchasing this. I figured it would be full of obvious things we die from, but I was surprised at all of the interesting content and the book has a ton of illustrations that I thought were cool as well.
