Es un libro muy práctico, bien documentado, de agradable lectura, y basado en investigación científica. Al estar orientado principalmente a los miembros de las organizaciones laborales (gerentes, supervisores, miembros y consultores de equipos), será de mucha ayuda para la labor profesional de los psicólogos organizacionales, al permitirles tener un lenguaje común con dichos miembros , quienes a través de su formación en MBA o cursos -"Trabajo de Equipo", "Liderazgo", etc.- utilizarían el libro en mención. Yo laboro muchos años en la docencia universitaria en el área de psicología, lo cual me permite afirmar con absoluta seguridad que "Teams that Work " es el mejor libro de psicología organizacional de los últimos tiempos.

There are tons of faux consultants peddling prescriptive frameworks and feel-good approaches for the complex task of developing and leading high-performing teams and organizations. Most of them have exceedingly little academic or professional training. Rather, they cling to overly simplistic, case-based approaches and are entirely unable to help when things don't go well. "Teams that Work," based on fantastic amounts of research conducted across diverse industries, sectors, organizations, and (yes) teams, blows through all of that. It drives to the heart of what matters in team performance, and explains not only why some of our myths about great teams are wrong, but proves it through data-supported research. If your organization works with teams, and it probably does, you need to establish this book as required reading for team members, coaches, managers, and leadership. If you're considering working with a coach or consultant who hasn't heard of this book, or its authors (who have been doing this type of research and writing for quite a long time), the best course of action to take is to thank them politely for their time and show them the door, because they probably have no idea what they're doing and their approach to team and organizational development likely involves a mix of magic spells, hand-holding, and hoping. Science FTW!

... then you will find this book very helpful. Scott Tannenbaum and Ed Salas are preeminent among team researchers today, and they have explained here how to make teams effective, regardless of industry. Written in an exceedingly readable style, they provide useful tools (including ones that will help you diagnose your own team(s), to better understand where attention may be needed). Other useful tables, "thought experiments," and questions throughout the book mean that you will have a chance to consolidate what you have enjoyed reading in the text. Recommend!
