Top critical review
3.0 out of 5 starsNot what I expected, too advanced. Good info otherwise.

This was not what I thought it would be. Instead of a beginners guide, it was more of something for industry professionals. It also requires you to install a version of Kali linux, which I had no problem doing. Once I got a few chapters in, though, it got a little too tedious. In order to fully utilize this book, you need to have a sort of "lab" set up, with a network of your own to practice on. Do not try to attack or "pentest" an outside network. Aside from the fact that it probably won't work, it is very illegal.
If you buy this book to learn how to pen test, you're gonna have a bad time. Make sure you have the networking experience and proper equipment to do the job BEFORE you buy the book. It's still a good book to keep around if you plan to get into this line of work, just not for beginners.
