Bought this as a gift for my husband who's venturing into comedy. He loves it! It was a great stocking stuffer for him. He's taken classes and this book goes a lot more in depth than the classes he's attended. Great book!

Comedy Writing Secrets very much deserves a five-star rating. I have always enjoyed comedy but never felt personally capable of writing my own. After reading this guide, I now have the tools to give it a try. I am so glad I chose this book. The author structured the chapters in such a way that kept my interest all the way through. I was pleasantly surpised by how often I laughed out loud! While comedy writing is a subject that requires particular interest, I think it is fair to assume almost everyone is interested in adding more laughter to their life. Comedy Writing Secrets has given me a roadmap to just that. I recommed this book.

This book met my expectations and beyond! I like how user friendly it is, as well as having enough detail in order to implement the chapters into everyday writing. This book has helped me become even funnier, and people have noticed a difference in my writing skills!

Funny and easy to read! As an English education major, I picked up some really good ideas from this especially for social media. Loved the quotes and can't wait to apply these ideas in the classroom!

Shatz provides practical processes to producing humor. I'll be stealing his ideas to use with my high schoolers in a unique humor writing course. Not only does Shatz provide a purposeful and insightful approach to comedy, he also sprinkles bacon like jokes from today's most brilliant comedians on to this salad of humor wisdom. The result is a highly entertaining and informative read, I give this my highest recommendation.
