Radclyffe never disappoints! Wonderful story.

I found this book fascinating, 4 1/2 stars. I did scan some of the other reviews before reading this novel, and can understand why some didn't understand the fantasy aspects of this story. Although the story contains a lot of dream state themes, it wasn't difficult to read or follow, at least for me. I really enjoyed Rooke's character, and the strong but somewhat forlorn world in which she lived, at least until Adrien Oakes entered her life. I didn't much care for Melinda (the witch, I began calling her by the end of the book) and this feeling of distrust and loathing intensified before the end. Even though she promised to give Rooke a platform for her art, she was conniving in the worst sort of way. I enjoyed the way Radclyffe prolonged the sexual tension between Adrien and Rooke, and the climax when they finally did make love was palpable, although I could have done with a few less 'I love you's' to be honest. It didn't take away from the story, just seemed a little over the top.
The ending left me wanting a bit, not really finishing in what would be called classic romance fashion, but it wasn't bad, just sudden.
All in all, a really good book. I would recommend this book, although it is quite different than Radclyffe's normal fare. Be prepared for a slight departure
