I bought this for my second-grade daughter who loves science. At first glance she was turned off by the small type but a few minutes later came back and wanted me to read with her. For an elementary schooler it will likely be a read together book for a while. Which is fine since we've just read a few pages and it opened up opportunities to discuss all sorts of things, about science and society, and piqued our interest to look up additional pictures and facts on the Internet. I am learning too! And it is a beautiful book to hold and look at.

I read a different segment to my 4 year old daughter every night and follow up with a photo of the person we just discussed on my phone along with the wiki article. She loves it and looks forward to it each and every evening before bed. She wants to be a scientist when she grows up. We need more books like this in our society so more of our little girls grow up loving math and science! Great pick - highly recommended.

This is an absolutely fantastic book! I got it as a present for a toy drive for a pre-teen girl and I am thinking of getting one for all the women and girls I know of all ages. The artwork is wonderful and the information is presented concisely but entertainingly. It's not an encyclopedia with an extremely detailed outline of each experiment conducted by each woman, but the information is fascinating and can inspire a young mind to investigate further.

Full of beautiful illustrations and great information. It's obvious how much care and attention was put into the spread for each of the scientists. I can see myself as a kid spending hours with this book. So many great surprises.

Seems to be a great book, BUT ours was printed backwards in the book and had words cut off from pages.

Beautiful book. Perfect illustrations, and such a mind opener. This is a great book to have if you are a woman in science (*raises hand*), know a woman in science, or just appreciate knowing who did what and why in the world. My favorite story is the one with the replica plating invention, by Esther Lederberg. This book is an inspiration to all, and such a mind opener. If you are thinking about getting it, just get it. It'll be a beautiful addition to your coffee table!

What a great collection! The graphics are so engaging! The information is clear and interesting ! I got one copy for my granddaughter to grow into (she is almost 4) and another for myself to read and to read to the children that I nanny for. I could not be more pleased. !

I did not read the book jet, just opened the package.

the book pages are upside-down and backward, out of registry (the top names are cropped and I see the print color alignment in the bottom).

regardless of how good the book might be, the vendor must check the book before shipping.

this is unacceptable.

This is a wonderful book for all ages, highlighting women in history who discovered amazing things. this and more books like it will eventually change the (wrong) assumption that every great invention and discovery throughout history was done by men. Not just a book for females. Perfect for boys to show them that girls are their equals.

Got this book for my 8 and 9 year old girls. They loved reading about the cool accomplishments of women. This was a great accompaniment to the Hidden Figures young reader book. Even though both girls have read the book cover-to-cover, this is a book they keep going back to. We often find them picking it up to reread particular stories that really resonate with them. We've also learned a thing or two that they've shared with us at dinner. It's a well-written book that is both educational and entertaining.
