The writing is excellent. The art is great but it does not show well in the kindle edition. When I looked at the demo on the Amazon website, it was misleading. The art appeared bigger, well enough to see. I am disappointed with kindle edition.

I never meant to be a crazy cat guy but I fell in love with a kitty girl and my love for cats lived past that romance. First, I loved this mostly as a romance and the hilarious confusion/jealousy that the cat owner had for her lost kitty was icing on the cake. Yes, there is a sad part which most of us who have owned pets have shared and that can be disturbing if you are looking for a feel good read. Beyond that is a great story of "control". How can creatures we love leave us and how can we preserve the love of others when it is shiny and new and we are reduced to pain meds and sad posters? I loved every page and hope the couple in it are enjoying every day.

This charming collaboration of a talented and lovely couple - one who writes and the other who illustrates - just grabbed my heart strings and sweetly plucked away. Anyone who has had or has an outdoor cat will be familiar with the heartbreak brought on by the inexplicable absence of a feline friend. Luckily, most of us know the incredible sense of relief - and exasperation - the sudden and nonchalant reappearance of that cat brings on. When I was in college, both of my cats disappeared at exactly the same time - one minute they were outside, the next they weren't. I suspected that a hostile neighbor, who openly disliked cats, picked up both of them and dumped them a distance away. One cat made it home - the other never did. In recent years, with the other cats I have owned and loved, I have thought about how cool it would be to put a tracking device on one of my cats. After reading this book, I am no longer naive that my cats stay close to home waiting for the saliva-inducing sound of kibble being dumped into their bowl. They may well be out of earshot - and then some! I adore this little this book, and I am tired of passing it around to people and intend it to be my giveaway book for my fellow cat lovers for birthdays and celebrations of all sorts. Caroline and Wendy - thank you. With my one little voice, I nominated your little book as a selection for World Book Night; I wish you success.

You know how the books and magazines at the veterinarian's office are usually only mildly interesting ? This book breaks the mold!
A humorous and touching book for pet lovers & those interested in personal uses of GPS technology! Great illustrations!! I bought multiple copies to give as gifts. Happy reading!

I don't think a book has ever made me laugh as hard as I laughed while reading this book. It's a light read, so ideal for travel (unless you are worried the guy next you on the plane will think you're crazy for sitting there laughing by yourself). An absolute must-read for all cat owners, but you don't need to be a cat lover to enjoy this book.

This is so much fun ! As a cat lover and guardian, I related to all of it and enjoyed living vicariously through another person's tracking experience, which I've never succumbed to. However, had my cat disappeared for a horrid amount of time, I would be fastening the little cameras to his collar too ! Well written and illustrated, full of heart, humor and humanity. A heartwarming book. ( I've passed it along to an Aunt who's having a really tough time and she loves it !)

First, this really isn't a story about a cat. Instead, the story of cat frames a story of dealing with loss, pain, and looking at the world through a different lens.

When author Caroline Paul finds herself with much more time on her hands after an unfortunate accident, she thinks about things...a lot. When her cat leaves one day, she prepares herself for the worst. When he returns, she is flooded with a range of feelings, including curiousity.

What follows is an attempt to figure out just why her cat took off. After trying various forms of technology, she reaches an epiphany. The best way to figure out what was going on with her cat was to put herself in his paws.

There is a lesson to be learned through the book: Many times the actions taken by others have little to do with us, and we have to come to peace with that.

The book is well-written, unique, and a quick and enjoyable read!

Interesting, but the author's narrative style felt more whiny and desperate than engaging and entertaining. It was, however, a good example of humanity's isolation from each other. Can't say I would recommend it, even to a cat lover.

Adored this book. As a cat lover I know the feeling of y our cat disappearing for days on end. Panic attacks is more the word for it. This book has made me realize more of a cats mind. But, I really wanted to cry when Fibie died. Have known that loss a few times and yeah time I say no more, but then another kitties comes along. Love them all. By the way, each and every kitties I've had has been a stray except for one and I have had a lot. They have helped me in bad times and good. Thanks for the read, both funny and full of information.

I am a book lover and a cat lover, so when these two loves combine in a book about cats, I simply can't resist.

As someone who has somewhat of a sickness (if a bleeding heart is a sickness) for taking in strays, I have had to deal with the heartache of said strays wandering off when they had their fill of human companionship. For that reason, I could totally relate to the pain the author felt at losing her cat. I couldn't quite relate to her obsessive need to find out her cat's whereabouts when he returned after five weeks, but to each their own.

This book is a short and easy enough read that I was able to enjoy it in one sitting. The writing style is conversational and, at times, humorous. It is also peppered with cute illustrations and a few photos.

I recommend this to anyone that loves cats and would enjoy some light reading.
