I suppose you could call this a coffee table magazine. It's a picture packed biography of the late, great James Dean. The main attraction here, of course, will be the generous selection of photos of Dean at various stages of his life and career. Beginning with Phil Stern's iconic cover shot of a cherubic, happy Dean astride his Triumph motorcycle, the rest of the photos are well-chosen and reproduced. The real surprise here is J.I. Baker's text: while it is not a substitute for a book length biography of Dean, it is intelligent and very well written.
