How customer reviews and ratings work

Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.

5.0 out of 5 starsI've read cover to cover many times

The agreements truly changed my life. I think of them every single day. This book puts emphasis on how to use the four agreements. I even bought extra copies to give out as "lenders" so I wouldn't lose my original one. I keep it in my night stand and refer back to it often.

I loved the 'Four agreements' and bought the 'Fifth agreement'. While I went through the 1st book in no time, it has been months of me starting the second book and putting it aside in disappointment. It is very wordy, goes in circle, there are contradicting statements within a single chapter, which can be frustrating. To be honest it is somewhat depressing and discouraging. I definitely expected more. Not sure if I can bring myself to buy another book written by the father/son duo. I am however very grateful for the Four agreements and will re-read it as prompted!

2.0 out of 5 stars Not worth it

I’ve read the four agreements and I absolutely love it and recommend it to all. Before buying this book “the fifth agreement” I read through a couple one star reviews but decided to find out myself whether I like the book or not. I don’t recommend it, it’s very repetitive and not as affected as the four agreements. It basically just talks about the four agreements all over again but with more added-unnecessary- words. I highly recommend the four agreements but stay away from this one

Fundamental conflict in moral absolutes for me in virtually the first page. LONG time getting to the points. The "Lite version" is worth it, but I found this book tedious. Only finished reading it for my book club and to honor the friend who recommended it.

I loved "The Four Agreements." It's still one of my favorite books in the genre and looked forward to reading what the Fifth Agreement would be. But I felt the re-hashing of the previous four agreements was unnecessary as it took up the bulk of the book and not as well written.

At one point I just gave up and read the chapter on the fifth agreement but felt cheated in some manner. Granted this could be because of my expectations of the book and of the writer himself. And I did enjoy two of his other books as much as his first.

I don't see anything wrong in reading the book and believe one might enjoy it better if they have not read "The Four Agreements." I could be off the page in my assessment of "The Fifth Agreement;" but I'll leave that up to you.

2.0 out of 5 stars Verbose, waste of time and money (and I loved the 4 agreements)

I was excited about buying the 5th agreement. What a disappointment! It's a bigger book than the 4 agreements, yet it's not providing any real insight. The main message could be explained in a few pages. Lots of repetitions, not practical, and not flowing at all. I had to force myself to finish it (who knows... maybe I was going to find a nugget of wisdom in the last pages... nope). While reading it I kept feeling it had been written just to tap into the financial success of the first book.

This book did not need to be over 200 pages. I did like the fact that it covered the four agreements again. I feel it is necessary to bring it back into our attentions. While reading The Four Agreements, I was completely hooked, reading it in one day. The Fifth Agreement was incredibly boring, repetitive, and said the same thing over and over again, in a roundabout way. I am now reading The Mastery of Self, and I love it.

2.0 out of 5 stars Difficult to believe his arguments

This book includes both a concise summary of The Four Agreements & introduction of the fifth agreement. I would recommend that you forego reading the "Four" book and jump to this. The "Four" is more tedious in how arguments are laid out, i.e., too wordy. I personally did not agree with his philosophy. They appear to be based on ideas which I don't agree: For example, we live in our virtual reality created by lies that are hooked to us in our upbringing. He tells us to create a new reality but doesn't offer practical guidance. I was looking for a book of spiritual arguments and instead found something that more closely resembles religious dogma

I read the four agreements and could tell it was inspired writing. This book attempts to capture the essence of the four agreements and add something new but it's just not the same.

This book is probably OK for beginners to Spiritual Humanitarianism....I loved 'The Four Agreements' & thought this book might add another element to those first four---not so!!

Buy the Four Agreements---save your money on the Fifth....

I got the CD the 4 agreements because I felt like I needed to listen to it again after all these years. Strangely enough it just doesn't really apply for me anymore.... I never even got around to listening to the fifth agreement
