How customer reviews and ratings work

Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.

5.0 out of 5 starsI've read cover to cover many times

The agreements truly changed my life. I think of them every single day. This book puts emphasis on how to use the four agreements. I even bought extra copies to give out as "lenders" so I wouldn't lose my original one. I keep it in my night stand and refer back to it often.

1.0 out of 5 starsUninspired

I loved the 'Four agreements' and bought the 'Fifth agreement'. While I went through the 1st book in no time, it has been months of me starting the second book and putting it aside in disappointment. It is very wordy, goes in circle, there are contradicting statements within a single chapter, which can be frustrating. To be honest it is somewhat depressing and discouraging. I definitely expected more. Not sure if I can bring myself to buy another book written by the father/son duo. I am however very grateful for the Four agreements and will re-read it as prompted!

3.0 out of 5 stars Some Good, Some Bad

There are some really good things about this book and some really poor things. I split the difference and gave it 3 stars. Here is why:

Pros:
* The message is solid.
* It's written in a way that anyone can understand.

Cons:
* This is written for someone who isn't a thinker, reader, and hasn't done much homework. The language is simple, repetitive, and written for someone with the attention span of a gnat. It borders on insulting.
* If you have read the 4 Agreements, you have most of this information already.

If I hadn't heard Don Miguel Ruiz speak, I would think that this was a joke. You might too. Be patient. You can get something out of it. The message IS good. You just may have to grit your teeth to get it.

I've read the Four Agreements, The Mastery of Love and the Voice of Knowledge before picking up the Fifth agreement.

I feel like the Fifth agreement is simply a mix of these three books.
The wording and explanations are often literally to be found in one of these three books.

I do feel it can come in handy for some people, who have had problems understanding how certain things are explained.
Every book seems to tell the same things, just with a focus on a different headline and with different wording.

I don't really regret buying this, but after having read the three books, I admit it didn't learn me anything new.

3.0 out of 5 stars Interesting, worthwhile, and not always very clear

I enjoyed reading this book, and appreciated the intentions of the authors. The agreements are helpful principles to live by, and I especially like the fifth. There were many places where the discussion seemed circular and repetitious, and I recognized a pattern that I have observed in many of my own attempts to communicate something that I didn't have words for. When I don't know how to say it, I keep trying different expressions, hoping that the hearer will somehow get it. I think I somehow got it, sort of. Glad the authors tried, and glad I tried, too.

It is okay and very good if you haven't read the Ruiz book on the first four agreements. This recaps them and adds a new one. I highly recommend if you want them all together, i.e. don't have the Four Agreements already. I just felt more than half the book was a replay.

3.0 out of 5 stars Kind of Redundant

This book, The Fifth Agreement, was kind of a let down for me. While I like what the fifth agreement actually says, it could be explain one paragraph. This whole book was basically a review of The Four Agreements, The Mastery of Love, and The Voice of Knowledge. Read those books, then Google the Fifth Agreement.

I believe this is great, yet so-so. I did not find what I needed here, though someone may. That's me. I'll continue to read until the end of the book, but I've also reached in other directions to hunt ways to get what I need from a self-help book, warriorship or not! Nothing personal towards the author, nothing ventured, nothing gained.Slightly worthwhile, though risky read.

3.0 out of 5 stars Doesn't live up to the 4 agreements

I thought this book was okay, but not nearly as compelling as the one his father wrote, "The 4 Agreements". This to me seemed a bit on the light side, almost like he was stretching to make his point. I can recite the 4 Agreements from memory but I cannot remember the 5th agreement.

I gave it 3 stars instead of 2 stars because I don't not like it, I just didn't personally find it compelling.

3.0 out of 5 stars Mostly a repeat

The Fifth Agreement wasn't a bad book, just an unnecessary one. Most of the book reviews what was said in the Four Agreements, which isn't a bad thing at all if you haven't yet ready it, but for those familiar with the first can get a bit repetitive. There is a whole lots of good information to reflect on, but not enough substance or revelation to stand on its own.
