I love absolutely love The Housewives Tarot! Its illustrations are interesting and easy to understand, and the guide book provides very practical keywords to help any beginner. It also comes with cute recipes and a durable box. I learned how to read tarot with this deck and I highly recommend it.

I bought this deck the same time as the Zombie Tarot and think they are from the same publisher/printer. While the Zombie Tarot was an instant hit, there were some drawbacks to this one.

I love the sturdy box. It drives me nuts when publishers don't include boxes. So you get a box and it's well made. The box is fun and when you open it, the inside is set up like a recipe card box, with dividers for the majors and minors and LWB. This is really clever. There are some retro recipes inside as well. The presentation is wonderful; it excludes 1950s housewives.

The downside is that this packaging bends/curves the cards and LWB. So they are all distorted. It's easy enough to fiddle with them to try and flatten them back out, but given how the box is designed, using it for storage will just warp the cards again. I love the concept; if only the cards didn't suffer.

To me, the imagery isn't as readable as the Zombie Tarot. This deck follows the Rider-Waite-Smith structure. Though there is less content (or less resonant content) on the card. The heavy use of cocktails in the cups suit makes it challenging to read the meaning. And the courts don't offer much symbolism either (and many people find the courts difficult to read anyway).

I do think it'd be a really fun party deck, and I absolutely love looking at it. It's novel, humorous and fun. But, trying to read from it would be somewhat challenging given these considerations. I don't think I'd use this deck for actual readings (whereas with the other, I absolutely would).

This is the first Tarot deck that I have ever owned. I wanted to start with something light, campy, and unassuming so as not to scare of the more "normal" people in my sphere. The Housewives Tarot is all of those things. What I didn't expect, especially as I am just getting to know my way around the Tarot, was that the accuracy would be markedly stunning. More than once the person I was reading for just sat with their mouth open in astonishment.
I have worked with this deck for several months now, and have thought about expanding my deck knowledge and purchasing another, however I never do because for whatever reason, this deck is really working for me.

I have always loved the campy imagery of the 1940's and 50's, collecting vintage magazines from that era and finding delight in the hilarious naivete of the ads. The art on these cards did not disappoint.

If you feel like you connect with the 40's-50's, if you love "I Love Lucy", "Bewitched", and "Leave it to Beaver",and if you collect vintage linens, magazines, or kitchen items . . . you are going to love these cards.

I originally bought this this deck about a year or so ago, but it was damaged when my puppy decided to chew up the cards. This a replacement deck and I wasn't absolutely sure I wanted the deck, but I loved the images so much I decided I had to have one. The problem I have with this deck is that the card stock is more like rigid cardboard so it would be quite easy to damage the cards while shuffling. I solved the problem a little bit by coating the cards with baby powder to combat their stockiness. I have a tendency to like tarot cards with the glossy sheen because I think they hold up better over time, but I certainly wouldn't discourage anyone from purchasing this deck. It's lots of fun. It's light-hearted and it avoids a lot of the pratfalls that other decks fall into which is being too dark. It seems a lot of people publish decks with the assumption that cartomancy is somehow a dark art and create their decks that way. I like that this deck doesn't take that approach.

A cute, artsy little deck! The cards are a little thin, but about the same as the Herbal Tarot Deck I've recently ordered. I love the art on these cards, like someone cut up some Norman Rockwell pictures and pasted them together to make the cards. The booklet that comes with it is delightfully tongue in cheek while still givng the classic definition of the cards. It's not one for a lot of public readings as I don't think the cardstock will withstand the constant usage, but as a private deck it is absolutely delightful. The box it comes in is just like a recipe box which I'm proud to display on my bookshelf (and being a kitchen witch, it is right up my alley.) Overall, I do wish the cards were of a thicker quality or had some kind of laminate, but I have enjoyed the addition of this deck to my collection.

At first, I got these purely for the entertainment value...now that I've had them for a bit, my attitude has entirely changed (for the better). The cards themselves have a nice, matte texture, and the vintage-style artwork is highly detailed. The little guidebook that comes with it is higher quality than your standard "little white book" in most decks, in addition to the kitschy style recipe box for it all. The humor is great at making light of many serious questions that the querant may pose, and does not seem to overly sugar-coat things. This is very much a tough-love deck.

This is just such a great addition to my collection. You can tell that a lot was put into making this deck very special, and for an amazingly low price! I will love this deck till the end of time. It is humorous and serious all at the same time. I love how to divider cards have recipes on the backs too...oh, and the box it comes in is to die for. I did my first reading with these cards tonight, and it was pretty easy to read. The descriptions of each card put a different twist on the typically boring approach to tarot card meanings...but the same conclusion is reached. I strongly recommend adding this to your collection of tarot. I just can't say enough good things about it!

These cards are so fun! I love the kitschy, retro style of them. The images on the cards make sense to their meanings. The little booklet with the explanations is very helpful since I'm new to tarot cards and not yet familiar with each card's meaning just by looking at it. I'm not one that believes in fortune-telling or 'fate', but these are a fun way to facilitate a little personal meditation on everyday topics, and are really fun to pull out at a party with open-minded friends. I searched for a long time for the "right" deck for me before settling on these. Supposedly you just "know" when a deck is right for you the first time you hold it, so I guess this one was a miss for me as I didn't feel anything other than passing amusement when flipping through it the first time, but I've enjoyed them either way.

The recipes are a cute addition to this set. I might attempt them at some point later on.

I adore this deck. I got it because I am an avid collector of decks, and a reader. I thought that this deck would be a fun edition. That's all. I was wrong! I love using this deck, as do certain clients who resonate with the vintage look and heart-hitting themes. Definitely not for everyone- like the "Thoth only" crowd... but if you don't take yourself that seriously, you'll be completely surprised at how much truth and poundcake this deck serves up!

This is such a FUN deck! Great for anyone who loves 1950's nostalgia or the show Mad Men! I read intuitively so I like how I get really different hits off of these cards compared to other decks. For instance, 4 of Pentacles tends to indicate financial stability but the image on that card in this deck is of a woman clutching her China cabinet with a worried look on her face. So, in every reading this has come up I've told the person that their money worries are all in their mind and to relax. They've all said that's dead on!
