This book makes it possible for one to believe themselves capable of achieving such a goal. I truly believe that once the baby steps are followed, it is possible for anyone to achieve this status. I have always believed that it is not the salary that one achieves, but the way you handle money will make the difference between you stay broke or gaining the millionaire mindset.

I have never actually received this purchase. I bought the book and it was delivered but I never got the book. Amazon did refund me but I did have the opportunity to listen to it on Audible. I believe when you buy a book here you can listen for free on audible (but don’t quote me on that.)
I loooooved it. Dave Ramsey is truly a gift for the people. I’ve read his total money makeover book which explains his baby steps for getting started off this book is about the remaining baby steps. He shares other people stories in this book which was a great way for me at least to have hope and belief I can become a millionaire. He shares stories from different starting points. Some people start from nothing some people inherited wealth and others had wealth and lost it. This book is great. If you consider yourself to be in a financial ruin or don’t really feel hope and only despair. This book is for you.

This book is based on a study of more than ten thousand millionaires. Dave’s personal finance baby steps might not seem cool or fun, but they are effective, as proven by many of his followers. The book explains how Dave actually invests in the stock market with four types of funds. The book claims one statistic of their study was the average time it takes to become a millionaire is 17 years. The book gives many best practices to work and invest smarter and stronger to help your chances of being one of the people in that average statistic. It also provides an example of how smart investing of $800 per month for thirty years can turn into $1.8 million. The biggest surprise I found in the book was the top five jobs of everyday millionaires included Teacher. My favorite quotes of the book are…“Personal finance is 80% behavior and 20% head knowledge.” “The shortest way to get from where you are now to success is by submitting yourself to the best practices of the thing you want to learn and do well.”

I listened to Dave's radio show as a podcast with fervor in 2017 as I got myself out of living paycheck to paycheck. I learned about Dave because my brother bought Dave's 2014 book "The Legacy Journey" for my parents. Even though I've consumed so much Ramsey content, I still learned new things in this book. I highly recommend this book because it helps the reader understand the mindset of managing money well. Other Ramsey resources give you the practical steps; this book helps explain the "why?" behind it all.

When I browsed the table of contents as I was deciding whether to buy this book, the chapter title that hooked me was "Will Wealth Ruin My Kids?" Wealth hasn't ruined Dave's three kids, and he shares wisdom in this chapter. The chapter that I enjoyed the most was "A Millionaire Is Not a Billionaire," because it helped me to understand how the practices and mindset of following the baby steps is very different from the strategies of the people who had the grit and good fortune to create a company or product that makes billions and billions of dollars.

Dave and his editorial team write crisp, clear prose. They use great analogies and teach principles through stories. As someone with a Ph.D., I really appreciate the rigor with which they conducted the quantitative and qualitative studies of millionaires. Thank you for all that you do, Dave and team, to encourage people to view themselves as the masters of their own choices and as beloved children of God!
