Top critical review
Work with your dog, but this muzzle is a start.

I could not wait to apply this muzzle to my yapping and biting 9-week-old Border Collie mix. To my utter horror, it only took her 15 seconds to get it off each time. After four tries, I gave up and was going to give this thing only one star for my rating. However, notice the picture with the nose of the dog extending out of the muzzle. My puppy is so small that her nose does not extend out of the Size 0 muzzle. She also has sharp claws like a kitten, which is how she got it off so fast. Then I told myself that when she gets a little bit bigger, it will finally fit her. No way! Why wait! It was time to do some creative thinking with a puppy who already thinks that she is smarter than her master.
The only thing that seemed to work was keeping a water bottle where she could see it. Everytime she yapped, I would yell "HUSH!!!" and spray her from the bottle. That Suneam Little Egg emitting a high frequency sound also did not work. I also left this muzzle next to the bottle where she could see it. By the next day, she was much quieter just from looking at the bottle and the muzzle! Now that she pretty much stays quiet, I pick her up often and rub her belly, which is what she wanted all along. You know what they say, "A spoon full of sugar will get you much further than a spoon full of vinegar". I am also learning each bark as wanting food or water (which I can't keep with her because she steps in it and makes a mess), having to go outside (halfway house trained already), or just to be held. As far as biting goes, she has already learned the command "no bite". However, I still can't turn my back on her in the house and let her roam freely, because shoes and other valuable will get chewed up. She satisfies her chewing needs whenever I leave her outside for a while.
So even though this muzzle did not stay on but for a few seconds, having her keep looking at it is enough of a deterrent to barking!
