It's better than the stock windscreen with the MV7

This is the stock/replacement windscreen for the Shure SM7B. It fits on the new MV7, and it was recommended to use instead of the stock one on the MV7. In comparison, it is MUCH better, but could still be improved for plosives. Obviously, you could speak at a 45 degree angle to prevent a lot of those plosives, but I prefer to be direct on the mic, as it has a cardioid pattern. If you so desire to upgrade even further, Shure has the A7WS for $24 (at the time of this review) that is supposedly the "best" windscreen for the models, but is MUCH larger. It seems pretty comical on the MV7 compared to the SM7B, but seems to be even better at plosives. I WILL say, like other reviews, it has a lighter black, almost charcoal gray, look and sticks out compared to the mic (see photo). However, it does the job.

Fits and works perfectly for my MV7. :D

The advantage to using this one over the default one for the MV7 is it will give you the appropriate distance to stay away from the mic itself. Which helps with preventing those "plosives."

As many other reviewers have noted, this windscreen fits the Shure MV7 and is basically a necessary upgrade over the foam that comes with that microphone. The MV7 is a great mic but *super* plosive sensitive. Switching to this foam will help with that a lot, though it still has some drawbacks.

PROS
+ Drastic improvement over MV7's included windscreen, improving tone and blocking a lot more plosive sound.
+ Fits the MV7 exactly (I see a review showing it doesn't go all the way on; they've either got a defective unit or have pushed it on right. Mine fits precisely.)
+ Makes the MV7 look like an SM7B — points for upping the look of your production suite.
+ Cheap!

CONS
- Still isn't great for close-to-mic vocal work. Plosions still get through. I suggest using a larger, rounded foam windscreen if you do right-up-on-the-mic voiceover stuff. But off-axis with a bit of distance, it's great.
- Gray instead of black. Lots of other reviewers noted this. The color doesn't bother me, and it doesn't look cheap on my mic. But I would have preferred it be the dark black of my other foam windscreens.
