My family and I use the One Egg Wonder quite a bit, often to make a single egg for a breakfast sandwich.

I often like to cook eggs covered, but the One Egg Wonder is an unusual size. Happily, there is a transatlantic solution: Judge Vista Lid 12cm

(Is it a little odd to pay under five bucks for a pan and then $13 for a lid? Yes. Yes, it is a little odd.)

I really wanted to love this pan but the non-stick coating wore out in only a few months. I may have gotten one with a defect but around the edge of the bottom, the coating started wearing off after maybe 5 or 10 cooks. I use silicon utensils when cooking so it wasn't due to scraping. I bought this to make egg sandwiches for the kids but now I'm concerned that the coating is getting into their food so it's basically worthless. I guess you get what you pay for

I've been making myself egg and cheese breakfast sandwiches for years now. I only want to have one egg and I was having trouble using my small frying pan to make a thick enough egg from one egg. This tiny egg pan is the perfect solution! I scrambled one egg, drop it in the pan and a few minutes later I have the perfect egg patty for my sandwiches! Easy to clean up and use daily. I spray the pan with Pam before use. I am in love with this little guy!

I just received this pan today and was so excited to use it! I eat an egg every day so this was what i needed. The picture on the left is 2 pans...i put my old 7" pan next to my new small one to show the ratio in size. The 2nd picture is the new pan alone. When i cooked a single egg...perfection! It was the perfect size to fit on a muffin and it slid right out of the pan! NO STICKING! Which in itself is amazing! lol I highly recommend it. When i cook a hamburger in it..it will be the perfect size for that too! I expect it to last a long time since T-Fal is a reputable brand. All in all...a great purchase for the price!

I don't like egg yolk so I will usually cook egg whites, which usually doesn't end well in a regular pan. This pan not only worked great but created uniform sizes for putting in breakfast sandwiches. I had an Joie Egg Fry Pan, which worked fine, but I had other T-fal pans and decided to give this one a try. The only downside is that the walls are much taller than my previous pan. While, I am good at flipping food in pans, not everyone is and that could present a problem for some buyers. If I don't feel like flipping the egg, I just use the Joie Egg spatula from my previous pan (I bought the spatula at Bed Bath & Beyond) and that one seems to work the best compared to other small spatulas. I have bought two of these and haven't had any problems with coating coming off. For anyone who isn't used to using these small pans, use a lower heat because although the handle is heat resistant, it isn't heat proof (Tip for all pans: you shouldn't have the flame larger than the pan anyways).

Nice Back-Country Pan

I use this, and a small pot for backpacking. It may not be the most ultralight piece of gear in my pack, but it also doesn't burn my food like lightweight cooking gear does. From lazy morning mini pancakes to sauteed chanterelles foraged along the trail, this little pan can handle it all. The heat spreads out better and the non-stick material helps keep things from sticking and creating annoying messes. To keep the non-stick material intact, I also bring a mini silicone spatula with me. The only downside is the handle creates unneeded weight and creates (manageable) balance issues on a camp stove. Maybe one day someone will create a pan with a wire handle, but until then, if you like cooking in the back-country and don't mind a few extra ounces, this is a great pan to have. I'm sure it makes wonderful eggs as well, but you can read other reviews for that :P

UPDATE: OK, folks, it's been almost three years since I posted this review. In that time I've cooked many eggs in this skillet, sometimes with shredded cheese and other "impulses" that should really challenge the non-stick properties and in EVERY case this skillet has performed flawlessly. Even if I put the cheese in the skillet first and then the egg on top, nothing sticks to the skillet. This little skillet is a big wonder! I love it.
As I'm the only one in my house who likes an occasional fried egg for breakfast, I purchased a Joie one-egg "non-stick" skillet from the grocery store several years ago. The bottoms of the eggs would stick to the skillet, even though it was supposed to be non-stick. In frustration, I found the T-fal A85700 One Egg Wonder and purchased it on Amazon. This morning I put in a small amount of butter, let it melt, and put in one egg to fry sunny side up. To test the non-stick properties, I put some shredded cheddar cheese on top and, when it was ready, turned the egg over. There was absolutely NO sticking of the egg to the skillet! It even swirled easily in the pan. After letting the top of the egg solidify and the cheese melt, I turned the pan upside down over the saucer (did not have to use a spatula) and the egg with melted cheese slipped out effortlessly. It was FANTASTIC! This was just with one egg, but I believe that this pan will last for quite a few fried eggs over the years. I love it.

Good for 1 or 2 poached eggs

I use it for poaching eggs since I recently found I am preferring the flavor to sunny side up. I just put some water and a bit of salt in this mini pot and simmer the water, and then put the egg in. I can do 2 eggs and they will fill the pan. Or one egg where I lift the pan up and tilt a little bit to pour in the egg which I have cracked into a mug. I have to get that lid that another reviewer linked to now. So far I use a small dish that fits, or a larger lid, which is ok since I have a small gas burner on my stove. At the end i just pour out the water and use a spatula to get the egg onto my toast. I mention all this because I think mostly people think of using a larger pot for pouched eggs if they are dropping the egg into water. And that is probably good for more eggs. But for just one or two eggs, I find this small pot works fine, and its so easy and fast to clean, which is important to me. The only difference is the pot doesn’t hold the heat like a pot that takes a lot of water, so I keep the burner on low even after the egg goes in, unlike other methods where you turn it off and put on a lid. I am going to get a tight fitting lid though.

Amazing for making breakfast sandwiches! Although the pan is slightly larger than a typical muffin, I still prefer this given I won't ever argue getting a little extra protein with the meal. My only knock is that the handle has shown signs of melting/cracking a bit under the heat on occasional recent uses, giving off that not so pleasant burnt plastic smell, but still a big fan and continue to use!

From prep to clean up, it takes 6 minutes (or less!) to make a scrambled egg with a bit of basil & pepper seasoning. Perfect for a quick breakfast before heading to campus to study.
And yes, I timed it. :)

The non-stick coating is excellent, and there's even the coating on the screws. This makes the cleanup hardly worth mentioning in the time calculations. (I seriously think it takes longer to fish out accidental egg-shell than it does to clean this thing.) I love it!

Plans for later will include a spinach & onion scramble. Maybe a touch of crumbled bacon, too... This little thing is absolutely fantastic, and WELL worth the price.

Pros: 1) Easy clean-up, 2) cooks evenly and quickly, 3) light-weight, 4) easy to store
Cons: 1) Small enough that I'm planning on getting a different sponge to avoid the risk of accidentally scratching the non-stick. 2) TOO ADORABLE! (Really, though, it does need to be balanced right on my gas burner. It is (barely) large enough to fit, but it sometimes takes a bit of balancing.
