Great surge protector with outstanding functionality.

Some background, I currently work in an IT department for an aerospace firm in southern California. One of my duties is to test hardware and devices prior to deploying them to our users.

This power strip performs as good as it looks. It features a swivable plug and a switch at the top side of the surge protector. The placement of the switch on the side of the surge protector is extemely well thought out. Other surge protectors have the switch on top, next to the additional plugs, which have the frequency of the user unintentionally turning off the surge protector when another plug is plugged in.

I would highly recommend this surge protector for the cost per plug, functionality, and style.

Fire started while using the 6 Foot rotating plug version of this power strip. A Remington razor was plugged into the power strip and in use at time of fire. This power strip was delivered by Amazon on 08/30/2016 and was used approximately 6 times. FIRE HAZARD! SPARKING AND STATIC NOISE LESS THAN TWO MONTHS AFTER PURCHASE

I just purchased this and less than two months after purchase I hear a static/sparking noise if I so much as move the power strip when there is a plug inserted. I tried it with multiple plugs and while I can't *see* a spark, I can hear it sparking inside--there's definitely a short inside there somewhere. This is a cheaply made product and I wonder how it's put together inside.

DO NOT PURCHASE THIS PRODUCT! I bought this because of the name Belkin. But as many news stories have pointed out, you have no idea who is making these products since Amazon has changed their policies and knockoffs are flooding their pages.

Unfortunately, Amazon tells me it's past the return date for this item. Terrible.

This nearly caused our home to burn down. We have had this for a couple of years. We had been smelling a burning plastic smell and didnt know where it was coming from. Then there was a loud pop, sparks, and smoke coming out of the outlet. Had we not been home, our house could have burned down.

I opened it up and found a resistor was burned.
Not sure why the fuse is placed next to the resistor(the resistor connected to a transistor) instead of the MOV.

Dangerous item!

DO NOT BUY THESE! DANGEROUS! I bought a set originally in early 2014 or late 2013, but by February 2014 one had shortcircuited and literally burned the plug. I emailed Amazon and they kindly sent me a new set, everyone agreeing it must be one faulty surge protector. However, about 20 minutes ago (almost a year later) I was awakened from a pretty deep sleep by very loud popping noises and sparks in my bedroom. I discovered the surge protector literally charred black and also the outlet to which it is plugged into. All that was plugged in at the time was a small table lamp (not turned on) and a small tabletop fan (on low). I tried to pull the plug out and large blue sparks shot out all sides. It's a clear, beautiful morning and no other electronics have issues; it is clearly the surge protector with the problem! Do not buy this! You never know when they will short out!

It melted, didn't shut off, just melted. It could have burned my house down! I only had 3 things plugged into it, monitor, pc, printer, all new. Reasonably new house. These are a huge safety hazard. I bought the 6 foot cord with rotating plug only back in late October of 2017. This could have been deadly. It melted and fused to the socket and broke the socket when I tried to pull it out. Super dangerous, could have burned the house down.

The first time I tried using this thing, it SHOCKED me and KILLED my monitor! I have never been shocked before in my life. It was pretty scary, I hope there is no permanent damage to my hand. Luckily my monitor started to work again after some time. I don't know if it was defective or what, but I wouldn’t risk it again This is a dangerous product that can potentially kill you and fry your electronics. My 20 year old power strips are much safer than this. I don't usually write reviews for things I return, but I felt I had to warn you all.

I had to throw mine away. The plastic where the cable connects melted and burned. Every time I connected my laptop to this strip my laptop would get super hot. Didn't realize that this strip was the problem until I took a close look at the strip and saw the burned plastic at where the cable connected. Buy something else.

Dangerous Fire Hazard. I've had this hooked up for 7 months and today it tried to burn down the house. Pictures attached to product page.

I heard this stupid thing smoldering and thank goodness because I was on my way out the door for work. This ruined my Belkin WeMo Switch and nearly burned down the house. I will be contacting Belkin to get a full refund on both.
