All my Hamilton Beach products exceed my expectations and this little mixer is no different. I like it because it serves my amateur, internet and book recipe baking needs, and doesn't take up much space in my cabinet (I am limited to two cabinets for ALL kitchen storage). I have used it to mix the ingredients to make cakes, brownies, muffins, waffles, pancakes, cookies, and dough for different breads. Works like a charm everytime!
It has 6 speeds and a burst button that gives whatever speed you are on, an added speed boost. It's super easy to clean and the best part is that the attachments and cord store together, making it look neat and all attachments easily accessible for next use. It brings 3 attachments and bin that clicks on to the mixer itself for storage of attachments and cord. It also has a 3 step like design at the end for the purpose of resting the mixer on the bowl as you add ingredients. I thought it was pretty neat and it actually keeps it from sliding, preventing the bowl from tipping over and spilling everything.
My only complaint is that for the attachments and cord to store together is a tetris battle that I always lose. Not to mention you have to apply some pressure to close the storage container. I haven't but, I'm afraid I might break it... for now the order that seems to do the trick is beater and whisk together then other beater across, pushed all the way down, cord and click.
For the price and functionality it's a total no brainer, this hand mixer rocks!
UPDATE:
It’s been 6 months and my mixer is still going like it did on day 1!!! I found practice makes perfect and now I don’t have a hard time storing all attachments and cord. I’ve mixed batter for bread, cakes, cookies, pancakes, waffles, even fondant. This little mixer truly goes the extra mile and I am so happy to use it every time.
