These are amazing ear plugs. I have been using ear plugs for nearly 20 years because my husband snores....LOUDLY. And no, he is not overweight, unhealthy etc...He probably could use his tonsils and adenoids removed, but tell that to a 44 year old. Anyway, just to give you a glimpse into my life, my husband did a sleep study and afterwards the doctor said he was the worst snorer that has come to the study. If I remember correctly, the level goes to 15 and he was at 15 nearly the entire night lol. So, he’s, loud is an understatement. These plugs are super soft, squishy, and easy to insert because they inflate too quickly. They also don’t hurt my ears nearly as much as others by the time I wake up. I’ll never buy any other brand! A++++ No, I did not receive these for free.

Skeptical of the Noise Reduction Rating

The difference between these and other earplugs from the same company, such as Flents Quiet Please Earplugs and Super Sleep Comfort Foam Ear Plugs , seems to be that these are longer. Apparently this gives them a higher Noise Reduction Rating (33dB, compared with 29dB on the others).

I think this must be assuming you insert the plugs all the way, which I personally can't do - it starts to be very uncomfortable when they go in too far. I guess the foam sitting outside the ear canal might block a bit of sound, but it seems like a lot would get in from the side. Besides, past a certain point, you're going to get more sound conducted through your skull than through the foam.

(Noise Reduction Ratings are very approximate. The real amount of reduction depends on the frequencies of the sound, how well you insert the plugs, and the shape of your ear canal, among other things. Ratings are at best an average, and at worst marketing.)

The extra length does make these easier to remove. It will tend to be uncomfortable for sleeping on your side.

I recommend Flents Quiet Please Earplugs unless you know that you have extra-long ear canals. For sleeping on your side, you might want to also get some Super Sleep Comfort Foam Ear Plugs and see if they're more comfortable for you.

As a rabid insomniac and championship level light sleeper who travels internationally and has to adjust sleep schedules according to whatever time zone I am in on a weekly- sometimes daily basis, I rely on earplugs religiously to maintain whatever sanity I have remaining. I can wholeheartedly go on record and confirm without hesitation or doubt -

THESE ARE THE BEST FOAM EARPLUGS AVAILABLE TODAY FOR PURCHASE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD!!!

I've literally spent thousands of dollars trying to find the "Holy Grail" of earplugs. I've tried everything from Beeswax and Cotton Earplugs made by hippies in Northern California to $100 machined Titanium plugs with foam inserts tuned to absorb an array of frequencies crafted by Robots and Professional Audio Technicians. A truckload of Silicone "flanged Christmas Trees" and "Putty" type earplugs hit the trash too. Custom made silicone gel, Rubber with tuned inserts, Electronic Earplugs that allow you to adjust how much money you want to watch burn in front of you.

I've tried them all. The NRR is on the nose exact. Rebound and comfort is incredible without hurting more sensitive ear canals. The trick here is Flents Foam Formula. I can only imagine how many years and hundreds of thousands of dollars and laboratory hours were put in to developing this recipe. The "Shore Hardness" of this foam is an exquisite masterclass in itself.

So, if you're in the market for earplugs that will save your marriage, protect your sanity and guarantee a night of sleep that you haven't had since you were a carefree child unshackled to any and all responsibility that comes with adulthood - these are your plugs.

I'm almost 100% sure these earplugs were what were inside "The Ark of Covenant" in that climactic scene in Raiders of The Lost Ark and the briefcase in "Pulp Fiction". Doubt it? Don't. These are the "Real Deal". Save all the money you would have spent on a dumpster full of failed expectations and take yourself on a nice vacation or buy that vintage Jaguar you've been drooling over for a decade.

AS OF 04-2018 THESE FLINTS EARPLUGS HAVE CHANGED. The material used now is slightly scrunchy and takes a few minutes for the earplugs to set in given that they are so scrunchy. After 30 minutes of use, my ears hurt. After one hour I commonly get headaches. These new plugs are NOTHING like the old Flents from 2016 and 2017. I hope like anything Flents reads this review and changes the formula back again. This is MISERABLE. Thus I changed a 5 star review into a one-star review. I am now searching for new ear plugs from another manufacturer.

Bait & switch; Just buy the 10 pack

TL:DR - 10 pack is great, 200 pack is garbage. Not the same earplugs. Subtle difference in photos, massive difference in comfort/effectiveness.

Writing this at 4:30 in the morning because I'm wide awake due to these completely useless earplugs. After struggling with another crappy brand of earplugs that were too big/uncomfortable, I bought these in the 10 pack just to see how they worked. Honestly they were amazing. I really thought my sleep troubles were finally over. They were comfortable and blocked snoring out like a dream. Naturally I made the mistake of assuming that the 200 pack would be just as good as the 10 pack, because, you know, most manufacturers have this thing called product consistency. In typical bait & switch fashion the 200 pack is total garbage. I've tried 6 different pair tonight and they're all varying degrees of absolute trash. They block out a little noise EXCEPT the most critical thing they should be blocking, the loud snoring 2 feet from my head. The 10 pack blocked it out, why can't the 200? Oh, probably because they aren't the same earplugs! The ones in the 200 pack are thinner, harder, tapered knives of eardrum stabbing, tragus bending crap sticks. On top of their ineffectiveness they feel like you've shoved champagne corks in you ear canals, so they hurt too much to even have them in for more than 5 minutes. It's incredibly disappointing that the company can't manage to make a consistent product between the 10 and 200 pack, and it feels as if they make a lesser quality product intentionally once you've been douped by the comfort and effectiveness of the small pack. I wish that I could get my money back on the 200 pack but I guess that's part of the scam. If you actually want to sleep just do yourself a favor and stick to the 10 pack. Evidently you get what you pay for with this company and you'll end up screwed if you try to go the "value" route. I now have a $30 bag of garbage and no sleep to show for it.

They Fly Through the Air With the Greatest of Ease

I have used regular cylindrical shaped foam earplugs nightly for over a decade. But this time I decided to search for and try "purple foam earplugs." I am a purple-loving fool. The BEST case scenario is that when these beautiful losers inevitably fall out, they get stuck in my hair. More typically they get lost in the bed or launch into the air when I get up in the night to visit the restroom. They are like tiny, purple rockets, bound for a planet far away, a planet populated with people with tiny earholes small enough to retain them. It's not as though I'm Earwina the Giant Earmonster, with cavernous ear vacuums no earplug could possibly satisfy. They just won't stay in. I'm ditching these purple losers for the regular cylindrical ones that have been boring, yet faithful all of these years. I'm sorry, for doubting you, babies. Mama's coming home.

Absolutely THE BEST earplugs for those of us who sleep with them in our ears at night.

For years, I suffered from insomnia, due in part to my very sensitive hearing and snoring dogs. We tried sound machines, we tried locking our dog out of our bedroom at night, but my mind would still focus on a random sound and keep me awake for hours every night. Finally decided to bite the bullet several years ago and get ear plugs. I've tried many brands, including those found in big box stores (used for construction). I finally decided to search for quality plugs that allowed me to get several nights of use prior to discarding and were comfortable. In come's the Flents! I ended up purchasing 3 different types, and these purple flents quiet time soft were my 2nd favorite! They fit well, block out a majority of nightly sounds, and do a great job of helping me fall asleep.

Pro's:
♦ Relatively inexpensive (when compared to big box stores)
♦ Friendly ear shape .... I've been using these for about a month, and not once have I woken up with sore ears from them being too large.
♦ Great, spungy, bounce back .... I use the twirl and insert method ~ Foam bounces back quickly and evenly.

Con's:
♦ They may be a *bit* long for some people. Worst case ~ they can easily be cut to be made shorter for the wearer. For me, they seem to be the perfect length.

Overall love these! Plan to use the contour ones during sleeping house, and these purple ones my wood shop!

Ordered the purple Flents QT Ear Plugs, hoping they would block even more sound than the last brand I ordered, which were pretty good. I am a small female, so these should have been plenty big around enough to stay secure and block out sound. Not so much. They do not expand completely, and when they do, the diameter just doesn't cut it. Hubby snoring, dog wheezing, all were clear as a bell. I spent half the night re-rolling them and trying everything I could think of, to no avail. I bought the big tub of them too! I'll be re-ordering my last brand and tossing these.

I ran out of my Hero's and was going to buy more when I noticed from reviews that the new Hero's in circulation had a deformed shape or "new shape" floating around.

I purchased Flents instead based on the reviews and this is my 2 cents.

The Flent's are slightly longer in length and a bit smaller in girth when compared with my old Hero's.
The material feels a bit more dense when compared with my old Hero's.

After wearing them a couple nights, here is what I have to say.

Flent's provides a better sleeping experience than Hero's!

It's smaller girth feel snug in my ear canal without feeling the added pressure of something there.
My Hero's by the morning would begin to cause some discomfort from the added pressure along my ear canal.

The increased density in Flent's appears to provide slightly better sound suppression than Hero's.

Starting to notice some downhill changes in these....

I have been using these earplugs almost everynight for years. These have always been my go-to.. Weirdly enough, went up a dollar in price overnight (was going to order it yesterday, but waited until today and went from $12.95 to $13.95...). Overall, I have always been happy. Recently, however, each container has about 30-35% of the earplugs that almost feel like a different material, even though they are the same color and obviously from the same package. They have a softer feel and don't eliminate noise and much as I would like (feels like a lower decibel threshold) . However, the rest of the earplugs work better than any other brand I've used. Maybe they are having some manufacturing errors? Another noticeable change is the smell. Has a very chemically smell when you first open up the package. I kept the container open to "air it out" and most of the smell went away within a few days.

I did reorder these even with the inconsistencies. If they continue to be inconsistent, I will probably start looking elsewhere.
