I spent a lot of time trying to choose the perfect griddle, and this one looked promising. I was disappointed when I got it to find it didn't have a reservoir on the flat side for grease run-off, which some reviews said it had and which looked like it might from the pictures, but ultimately I don't use enough grease for that to make a difference anyway.
This was pre-seasoned, and that pre-seasoning was pretty useless, so I do regret letting that influence my decision.
I actually got this for the flat side for pancakes and eggs, but I had a lot of sticking issues that I could never resolve with seasoning and eventually I gave up and bought a flat teflon griddle. Perhaps I could use this better if I stripped it and did the multilayered flaxseed oil seasoning that people recommend, but that feels like too much hassle.
However, I just love the other side, which I use to grill hamburgers and steaks. Steaks come out better than in a pan, although I do have trouble finding a temperature that's hot enough to not stick without smoking. Also it's a pain to clean, as the grease gets in the corners.
I also think I should have got a griddle with actual handles.
If I had to do it over again I would try a different griddle, but honestly I don't know if I would have liked that one better or not. This one has a lot of surface area and isn't too bad in terms of heat distribution.
