Basically I'm comparing this to the brilliant, yet basic, £40 Samsung MP3 player I bought 5 years ago,and that may be unfair, but .....this is inferior, despite it costing more, five years in advance, and Sony.

Firstly I bought this primarily for the FM radio player. I'm starting to get annoyed how the vast majority of mp3 players these days with FM radio have such a bad way of interpretating the signal given to the antenna (the earphone lead) which produces such a lousy and unreliable service (I never once got interference with the old samsung one)

The MP3's overall sound is standard, nothing special, nothing bad....bass adds a bit of kick but with the cheap headphones it's boxed with it's difficult to get excited about, plus the maximum volume is disappointingly not loud enough.

The cap/cover for the USB is so flimsy. I can see it falling off by itself and it being lost forever within days.

When charging, your PC actually needs to start the MP3's in-house system (of which it does OVER AND OVER again until you stop it..only to do it over and over again) ... before it will actually charge, thus charging using simple things like a basic USB receiver could prove more than likely not to work, although being Sony it is completely compatible with the PS3, something which most MP3 players are not. It can therefore also act as a USB memory stick to copy, save and transfer data to and from it.

"ZAPPIN" is pointless, no-one on earth who buys this MP3 player will use it...ever. It's basically just a intro player with a ludicrous and completely unnecessary trademarked name.

Interface - it's very basic, the order of songs is based what album it belongs to, not easy to find and play songs in the order you want. Some songs will not work, and it won't give a real as to why. In the specification for this it alludes to playing won't be playing any videos on this tiny cheap LCD.

There are far better and cheaper MP3 players on the market. If your requirements has reliability at number 1 then buy it, it is Sony afterall. For everything else, many cheaper models can do everything just as well or better.
