Due to Noctua's brand name, I expected this paste to be really good, but unfortunately, I was disappointed.
After applying this to my CPU, average temperatures were above 60 on low load. Every setting on my motherboard MSI B450I GAMING PLUS was at stock, because I don't care about OC. The motherboard is pumping 1.4V to my R7 2700.
After 3-6 months of usage, it was degraded to the point that my CPU was hitting 95 C and throttling when I did heavy stuff, all fans at 100%, Cryorig C7 cooler. I reapplied it 2 weeks ago and I am back at around 60 again.
I am not the kind of person who cares about differences in temperatures, but if I am unable to keep the PC running without throttling then I am not happy.
Now, after reapplying, it does not throttle at full load anymore, but to achieve this, I have to keep the fans running at 100%. And I hate noise.
And frankly I am not looking forward to taking apart my ITX form factor pc again into pieces and reapplying the paste again in 3 months.
I also applied this paste to my family member's PC (asus z170i pro gaming/i5-6400/all stock settings/intel stock cooler) and he complained about it being noisier than using the paste the CPU had on before. idk how
Even using this on an Intel Celeron based PC (asrock h110m-a itx/ac / G3900) it's not okay. After few months of use on my Celeron, CPU was hitting 85C and shutting down when on load. (This is my spare pc)
All this was from the same tube. And I am sure I know how to apply thermal paste correctly. I think all this is already saying something.
I feel like most of these good reviews are from people who only used it for a day and left a review, while the product seems to degrade after 3-6 months.
