I am writing my first Memoir. I am also a vocalist, composer and visual artist. Every thing she said resonated in my soul. The main takeaway from this book was how much faith and hope she had in every one of us to be a writer! NO more 'Am I a writer?'. It is now 'YES I am' Thank you Julia. The optimism and love for the craft of writing showed through in every page. Thank you for being a cheerleader for all of us writers!

I love all the initiation tools. So much of this book spoke to me personally. In my line of business (Consultation; and writing blogs), it is necessary that I communicate with and to people by writing. I see myself revisiting this book often like a manual, using the initiation tools to help me develop my practice.

How does one describe the value of Scripture? Julia Cameron's The Right to Write is superb if you write, and EVERYONE has the potential, and the obligation, to write. Everyone wants to make a difference during their lifetime and here is the opportunity to write about that difference, whether your "difference" has to do with writing or some completely foreign field of expertise. Write it down for posterity's future reading as well as for your own personal reward and enjoyment. Fulfillment is one of the rewards of writing and this book guarantees that. After my first devouring of the content I immediately started over rereading it a second time, catching several points and nuances I missed the first time because after the first reading I was seeing things through different eyes. And don't miss Julia Cameron's "The Artist's Way" which introduced me to her, her methods, and to The Right to Write. Two words says it all: Simply Superb!

Of all the books I use in my writing classes, this is my favorite. It is simple and full of good stories and anecdotes and lasting lessons that I have taken with me over the years of being a creative writing teacher. This is a must read!

This book is fantastic.
There are several ways to express your creative side in writing. It was nice to know my crazy style is actually a way to write, who would have thought!
I love this book and also Julia Cameron's "The Artists Way." It was life; saving, changing and affirming.

Julia Cameron you have done HUMANKIND a great favor writing this book. We do not write because we are inspired .. NO .. we begin to write and then we FIND INSPIRATION. I learned this from your PHENOMENAL BOOK. SO (to quote you) JUST BEGIN TO WRITE and the words will follow.

I bought this book for myself and loved it so much I've gifted 5 copies of it to other authors. All have said they have been pleasantly surprised with how great a book it is. If you're a writer that needs a bit of motivation in your, then this is the book for you. I hear the concepts are very similar to the artist way. I personally enjoyed this book much more than the artist way. I highly recommend this book.

The writer has helpful and practical suggestions for writers. There are inspirational stories which give guidance to fledgling writers and those who are planning on putting pen to paper.
