My review is based solely on the quality of the product. Of course, fresh homemade chicken broth is preferable. But, Better Than Boullion not only makes a very convenient alternative, the flavor is outstanding and it keeps well in the refrigerator. When I need just a splash of broth or several cups for risotto, for example, this product works perfectly! The downside is this same product at COSTCO sells for $4.99 and the Beef Boullion is only $5.99. Amazon, your markup is 300%! Yes, it’s convenient ordering through Amazon If you’re willing to pay 3 times the price.

I was very disappointed as this product had a deceptive coverage of its products content.
I checked the reviews & found the question I was looking for reguarding MSG being present?
It was believed that there was no MSG as it was not on the label I could see on amazon, a review from one person said it’s all organic and no MSG.
I made a great dinner with it and spent the rest of the evening sick. Blood sugar was off, and problems with digestion.
This started a inflammatory response in my body that took me a year of a special diet and supliment therapy to cure.
I bought the 16oz jar as I was so happy to find this chicken broth to give my meals more flavor.
Please do not buy this product if you have restrictions.
I looked at the label after the fact to see MSG was there as maltodextrin. Not shown in amazons photos.
I doubt amazon has time to check all the labels of all the products so I don’t hold them accountable.
Look everything up if you are not sure please.

Read the label on this and the first ingredient is chicken. Read the label on the competitors and the first ingredient is salt. Enough said. This brand is the best I've found and have used it for years.

I steam the stems/stalks of broccoli and cauliflower and whiz them up in my Vitamix to make soup. To thin / make into soup I add the cooking liquid, Better Than Boullion, salt and plenty of pepper. You would *never* guess there wasn't cream added to the soup! The chicken base gives it a great flavor and the pepper ensures it's not boring. This soup freezes very well. It's a great mid-morning or afternoon snack when you think you can't possibly make it until dinner time without a chocolate chip cookie.

This is fantastic for cooking. I use it all the time. It tastes great. It isn't as salty as many.

Just know what you're getting into. If you're looking to do something sauce-based that requires a perfectly smooth texture, this might not be for you. It does have some very tiny chicken bits in it. They tend to settle to the bottom after it's mixed, so you can let it settle, then use the remaining liquid, if you want. When I'm sick, I make myself hot chicken broth with this sometimes. It's great until I get to the very bottom, and then the texture gets a bit unpleasant. I don't drink the last little bit.

But on the whole, for it's intended uses and its price, it can't be beat!

I just made chicken noodle soup using this product. My kids are not fans of most soup, and they hate store bought canned soup. I agree with them about store bought soup. Nobody was excited that I was making soup for lunch. My older son begged me to make lasagna instead (from scratch). I ignored them and made the soup. I put a bowl in front of each of them, and after one bite, my older son declared that he loved it more than lasagna and said he hoped I would make it every day. I will be buying more of this!

Chicken Noodle Soup

2 carrots, sliced
2 stalks celery, sliced
1 box of pasta (I used gluten free)
1 can cooked chicken breast
2 Tb Better Than Bouillon Organic Chicken Base
2 Tb butter
2 cups milk
2 Tb corn starch, potato starch, or tapioca starch

Boil pasta and vegetables in water. Drain. Leave pasta and vegetables in the strainer at the sink. Use same pot to melt butter. In a small bowl mix the corn starch or other starch with a small amount of cold milk. (If you try to mix starch with hot milk, it will make lots of lumps.) Heat remaining milk with butter and Better Than Boullion in the pot. When it is hot, add the starch and milk and stir. Add canned chicken, noodles, and vegetables. Heat until liquid starts to thicken. Remove from heat. Add salt and pepper to taste, and serve.

I love this stuff. I am even able to substitute cans of chicken broth in my soups and stews using it. That surprised me and is saving me money too. Made a quick gravy with it since, I had 2 boxes of Stove Top Stuffing that I had to use up quick (expiring soon) and, it was pretty good. First time I made gravy with it, I used flour but, it was a bit heavy clouded it up appearance wise. This time I used cornstarch to thicken it and, a dash of paprika for color and, it improved the look and taste of it. I definitely recommend it. Also bought the beef flavor in the local supermarket and, it worked well in my beef stew recipe as I substituted it for canned broth. In my opinion, it had no commercial taste at all.

This a is really good! Especially in rice, quinoa and other grains. Makes my chicken soup amazing. Also puts my own labor intensive 2 day, only homegrown and organic personal masterpiece in 2nd place (only by a little bit though mind you) It really comes out like a very expensive stock. It's the bomb!!!!!
