Slight design flaw... the carafe holds up to 12 cups but the coffee pot's reservoir only holds 8 cups worth of water so in order to brew a full glass carafe worth of coffee, you have to add an additional 4 cups of water to the reservoir after the brew cycle in order to make a full 12 cups. I actually think several cups of water evaporate during the brew cycle adding to this problem. It's kind of frustrating having to babysit the pot during the brew cycle to add more water but other than that, it's a great coffee maker! Also make sure you turn the gas flow from HI, after brew cycle, down to low to maintain hot coffee and save gas. I will also add that this machine makes piping HOT coffee so be careful! Finally, do NOT use this coffee maker on a plastic or wood table!!! It WILL melt the plastic table and possibly scorch or set the wood table on fire! After I melted my plastic table, I relocated this coffee maker to the Coleman aluminum portable camping table and it was fine!
