I just received two of these in the mail (bought at the same time, in the same order), for we had our first brewing class and were asked to purchase one per student. Much to my surprise, we received arguably the same assortment of items portrayed in the advertisement, but things were a little different between both kits. First off, one kit's bucket had a "Home Brew Ohio" stamp on the side of the bucket, as it appears in the stock image, while the other did not. Arguably they are the same bucket, capable of holding the same volume of liquid and arriving with the portrayed lid. Secondly, one of our 1 gallon glass carboys came with a rubber stopper to seal the carboy and hold the airlock, while the other came with a plastic screw-on cap which holds the airlock. The advertisement portrayed rubber stoppers... Finally, we also found that some of the ingredients / chemicals actually differed between kits, one included the tannins while the other did not... One came with the portrayed cleaning solution, while the other did not.
While the kits were not entirely as advertised, so far they have done their intended job. To top it off, the price isn't bad at all. I ordered a hydrometer, a different siphon and a few other items along side this, for there are still a few necessary items that this kit lacks.
Message to the company: Consistency in your kits would be nice.
