Nice update

I played the original when it first came out and this is the same game just updated in graphics and movement in the game. This is a nice update with the usual movements from the recent games to this older one.

I have Windows 11 on a laptop that’s not even 2 years old and I still could not get this game to run after installing it. I tried every troubleshoot option available and tested to change many settings within the game properties and on my personal laptop settings. Game did not run and there is no refund allowed.

As most other reviewers mention, this game is very short and quite easy compared to others, but I enjoyed that I didn't need a walkthrough to complete it!

The weirdest part about this game compared to other Nancy Drew games was that there really weren't any "assigned" puzzles -- puzzles that other characters ask Nancy to solve.

I would have liked to see the characters fleshed out a little bit more, and Jake's character left a lot unanswered. Why did he want to blackmail everyone? I wish that Nancy would have at least explained this in her letter to her dad at the end of the game.

What was up with the quarters? I mean, you could use them to play music, get soda, play Barnacle Blast...but there was no real incentive to collect them unless you wanted an extra star on your badge at the end of the game. I would have liked to collect those for something meaningful in the game that Nancy needed to solve the mystery.

The setting left a lot to be desired as well. The computer in the teacher's lounge mentions all of these places in the school, and Nancy couldn't access most of them. This could potentially be the greatest Nancy Drew game of all time with more stories and more places to go.

Not only were a lot of places in the school mentioned, but they were also mentioned with time references to meetings. An added time element would have been great in this game. Perhaps if Nancy actually had classes and meetings to go to while under cover, things would have moved in a less-forced way.

The best part about this game was the ending -- I sincerely did not see it coming, and I LOVED that! If you love a big plot twist, definitely give this one a go!

Overall, great ideas and plot twist, but it just needed to be a little more complex and less rushed.

I love Nancy Drew games and have been trying to catch up on all the ones I've missed over the past few years. I had read reviews that this one was short but I guess I didn't really believe them because I went ahead and purchased it anyways. However, be warned because it is REALLY short. I think I finished in under 3 hours.
Other than length, I found some of the puzzles easy while the main one, which you need to solve in order to solve the case, was just a little beyond me. So overall, if you want a short game to play one afternoon with an interesting storyline,lots of snooping and questioning, and very few puzzles this ones for you. However, I would recommend waiting until the price goes down even more. I just don't think it's enough game to be worth $6.99.

Untapped potential with this game, but fun play

I remembered playing the original as a child and just getting frustrated because you had to switch discs each time you wanted to change locations. I was excited to play the remastered version and ended up being disappointed. This game had so much potential, as it rests on a much darker topic than most Nancy games: murder. It started off very strong, but before I knew it, I was confronting the culprit (a great twist, by the way!). This game lacked the character backstories, puzzles and overall depth that make the other games so strong. Her Interactive alludes to each character's rich history, but never truly elaborates on them. We never even learned why Jake wanted to blackmail everyone. It was a fun 2-hour play that left me wanting more.
