We had been searching for an Indian-type mixer grinder for quite sometime, and in that time had tried a couple, those available in WalMart and Target, but to no avail. They would all fail for the Indian grinding, esp. the wet grinding of grains, i.e. rice, lentils, etc.
Thanks to Amazon and Preethi, this one is the one that we were looking for.
It is the same one that you get back in India and is actually made in Chennai, for authenticity, and hence has the same configurations as a typical Indian mixer would, like that of Sumeet, Bajaj, etc. The big jar seems little smaller in size compared to what you would typically be accustomed to, but it does the job well. Have been grinding dosa batter, idli batter, cocount, groundnuts, etc. all with perfect ease and comfort. Yes, it does sound more than the local counterparts that I have used earlier, but at a smaller wattage.
