I can do some of what I want to make a plan, but my scale was all off, and I couldn't shrink some of the furnishings to get them placed better--especially bathroom objects--so I left out one wall. That was okay for my purposes, but not ideal.
I had a few times that I just had to start over to see what I could do with this. There are some items that I couldn't find, so I think they are missing--like a fireplace. Table set with chairs would work better for dining--the chairs are separate and take up too much room, and, again, I couldn't shrink them enough to include that, so I just used a table.
Most items change when you shrink them so they aren't still recognizable as that item.
I just wanted a one page look at my house and changes I plan to make. I didn't want to scroll, which is perhaps why I had more difficulty with this than others may.
This may be better for planning one room than an entire story of a house.
Wasn't expecting much with it being touchscreen, but wow, what a great app! Has furniture, shapes, multiple levels, tons of stuff. I haven't dug deep to see if there are more items to download, but at this point it's the only thing I've noticed, lacks newer shapes of sinks, etc, but minor VERY minor issue. We purchased a new home and are trying to get a concept of layout before moving in to save some time rearranging. Highly recommended.
So many app developers promise more than their app delivers, but I didn't get that feeling with this one. Now, you can't save pictures or take screenshots without paying, and $6.99 may be more than some are willing to spend for the full features, but the app worked smoothly and beautifully and I had no problem with the price after such an experience. There's always the basic option.
I downloaded this app to help my daughter arrange the living room in her first house. She has a big purple recliner couch (!!), and this app even allowed us to color the tiny couch purple and place it within the floor plan. We had a blast! Plus, this app works really, really well! You have to take the time to learn how to use it, but it wasn't that hard, even for an old codger like me. :o)
I spent 6 hours the first night building my house. I did decide to spend the $20 for the full catalog, but it isn't necessary unless you're being very specific about the design details. I am not, but it's more fun that way. I am about to start a whole new floor plan and can't wait!! There is a glitch with the inside and outside wall coloring, but it's possible i just haven't figured it out yet.
I really had fun taking my son's hand drawn home floor design and creating it in this app. It does pretty much everything I needed it to do. The amazing thing is I was able to see some flaws in my son's design that he will update in his floor plan. The app does a great job of showing the length and width of rooms and total floor space, as well as the ability to put in appliances and furniture which gives you a real perspective on the size space you need. The developer is very easy to contact by email and he is continuing to improve the app. I agree with some of the improvements suggested in other reviews, but this app does 95% of what I needed and it's free to boot. For that I give it 5 stars.
Easy to use. I designed my new kitchen with this tool. It was great, ordered the cabinets from a printout, installers used a copy and counter top manufacturer also used a copy for initial estimate. All accurate. I found it very helpful.
I only wish a few things more to this app: 1) They had more premade homes, such as hectagon and pentagons and such. 2) There was a way to incorporate where the plumbing and electric could be in there and connected as such, including hot and cold water lines AND the circuit breaker box. 3) That there were more things such as shelving units, safes, and a way to plan like patios with furniture onto them OH and a driveway.
Love this app! I'm currently at the beginning of a remodeling project at home and this app has been invaluable as I try to figure out how I will be designing and furnishing my new space. I'm giving it four stars instead of five because it is a little difficult to use. It seems like I was pressing the back button to get back to other pages within the app instead of being able to access various pages from wherever I was. Also, there is a tutorial, but it doesn't go nearly into the amount of detail that can be utilized in this app, so a lot of the features I sort of stumbled upon by accident. This could be frustrating for someone who gets easily frustrated with technology or computers, but if you have the patience to explore the app and are okay with trial and error, you'll find that it is very useful. I'd also really love to see some textures added to the color options, for example, tile or wood floor textures to get an idea of what floors would look like. One of my favorite features in this app is that you can share images of your projects to others. So if you want feedback for your floor plan, it's very easy to email an image of what you have to someone. Dimensions are easy to configure and there's a decent amount of choices for accessories like furniture and kitchen appliances.
