How customer reviews and ratings work

Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.

5.0 out of 5 starsOne of the best archery books for beginners
Reviewed in the United States on January 5, 2019
This book is definitely one of the best books I've read on starting up on recurve archery. In fact, if you're strictly interested in Olympic recurve, this is probably the best book to start up with. It goes over equipment, maintenance, tuning, basic form, structuring your practices, setting goals, mental management. It touches upon so many aspects on the sport of archery, favoring breadth with just the right amount of depth, to get a beginning/intermediate archer like me in the right direction.

I especially appreciated the chapter on fine-tuning. I think this is what a lot of other beginner books lack but here the author covers the process with excellent detail and organization.

I purchased the kindle version and found it to be great.

4.0 out of 5 stars An excellent introduction to the equipment, setup and basic technique of Olympic Recurve Archery

Mr. Needham does an excellent job of introducing the technology, equipment, setup and basic techniques needed to get anyone started with Olympic Archery. He even goes so far as to describe the methods necessary to create one's own bow string (something I've not really considered before now). The chapters on setup and tuning are extremely useful as some of the material available online can be confusing to the novice.

Overall I would rate this book a must buy for anyone looking to take up the sport or has already had a basic introduction at a club and is now looking to purchase their first bow and advance to a more competent level.

I buy every book I can find on archery and I have learned something new from each one. I especially love the detailed guidance in this book on fine tuning a bow. the author is also British and his perspective and terminology is just a little bit different from that used by authors from the USA. a different perspective equates to a fresh approach. I think the title says it all but the author painstakingly explores all the variables that can impact your shot. don't miss this one

5.0 out of 5 stars It provides a comprehensive guide on archery as intended by the writer

Wordings as used added with many drawings and photographs make this book easy to read. I benefit from additional insight and tips the writer gives. I especially like how he addresses about two competing recommended stances, ie, square and open.

The book goes through wide range of topics from mental trending to bow tuning. Of course with all things in the middle like shooting sequence. I do enjoyed reading it and I'll use for reference in the future. Do recommend.

chang
1.0 out of 5 stars not about art of repetition/how to practice. just a normal beginner archery book
Reviewed in the United States on July 11, 2022

i thought the book was going to be about the art of repetition- like how to practice archery, but it's not. title is misleading. author just means that archery = art of repetition, but it's a normal basic introductory guide book to archery. there are way better books out there for this purpose. i had already read few of these beginner books and i did not learn anything new. in fact i read through this book in one sitting, in like an hour.
