I'm not going to say this doesn't work, because it does. But it does require elbow grease to an extent that i'm not sure if it is really better than soft scrub etc. I agree with other reviewers that you have to make a paste and let it sit. I found best way is with your fingers. Unfortunately by the time most people consider getting this the pots are probably pretty stained, I found it worked very well if you get to them sooner rather that later, the ones that were really used you cant ever really get that which stuff off without considerable effort, and even then forget about in between screws or the handle.
