I wish i had seen this before i invested in my Kurig electric coffee pot! this is absolutely amazing! I bought it for camping, but after a camping trial, i find myself using it daily at home! I heat a quart of water in my microwave, put the k-cup in this maker, fill it with super-hot water (I assume you are a careful adult to do this) place it on my mug, and slowly press down. release, and press again, until the 'shush' sound tells me all the water is through the cup. If my mug is a really big one, i add more hot water, and do it again, until my mug is full. Presto! perfect k cup of coffee! mine came with a refillable k cup unit, i haven't used that yet, but i am sure it will work just as well! I bought two right away, so inexpensive, i thought, well, it's disposable, but no! it's very sturdy and well made, i couldn't be happier! thank you Presto! btw, i paid full price for these, and am a regular shopper, not getting anything free for this review.
UPDATE: after one month of use, small silicone valve inside no longer stays in place during use. what a mess! grounds and water everywhere! tried calling the posted number to ask about buying replacement valves, number is a dead listing. so unhappy! should come with ten replacement valves! i hope i can find some, i really do love the product, and used it everyday :(
UPDATE: after one year+ of trying to contact presto, finally got an answer to the valve issue. they "never heard of any problems. but they could send me ONE replacement valve, for $1.50, plus $2 S/H" no thank you! i will just throw it out. btw, the second one i bought is still working after two months. fingers crossed! i really think they could send ten of the valves for that price, or one for free to replace the defective one.
