Very well made, great size and looks good. However, because the bag is intended for use on either shoulder (neat carabiner mechanism to switch sides) the strap is straight. When worn, the strap is not over the shoulder but more towards the neck, over the trapezius muscle. Due to the width of the strap, it will then sit above the shirt, rubbing the neck. As one can imagine, this can become uncomfortable over time and is a little annoying if you are wearing a collared shirt. Additionally, there is no chest or waist support strap so if you ride a bike or need to run to catch that train/bus, it is likely to slide around your body.

Nice day pack. I got this for ease of handling my possessions while on excursions during a cruise. I like the feel of this bag's fabric, the light colored interior and chose to wear this pack on the front, cross body. It was handy for accessing my wallet or anything else I needed to take in and out during the day. The only thing I wish the makers would give more thought to is the credit card slots on the inside. I tried placing cards in the slots and then putting in and taking items out of the pack several times. The cards were prone to dislodging from the slots. I REALLY wanted to use those RFID slots so created my own safety snap on strip to keep the cards in place. It worked, though one made by the company would be much more attractive. Cards would much be safer in slots in a zippered compartment or even just in an open pocket so friction from items coming in and out would not inadvertently pull the cards out as well.

I like it...but...

Basic quality is good as are the security features. A great idea in general. However I have a few issues with it. 1) the outside front pocket is designed on a diagonal across the face of the bag. Depending on if you are a lefty or a righty the pocket opens up or opens down, meaning depending on what shoulder you sling across places the diagonal opening down such that items in the pocket may fall out when unzipped. Across the other shoulder and the diagonal faces up so items stay in place when unzipped. Should have designed the pocket with either a straight opening or a curved opening so it functions the same regardless of shoulder. 2) the strap slips easily in the buckle, probably because of the wire reinforcement making it stiff. So it loosens constantly while wearing the bag. 3) The bag refuses to stay in place on the shoulder. It works down until the bag rests at the bottom of the strap's loop at your hip. It will not ride any length of time on your upper back/shoulder like the product picture shows. This becomes unwieldy and clumsy and only made MUCH worse when you have any weight loaded in the bag like a water bottle.

So if you don't mind the design flaws, the bag is not bad and is functional for travel.

Fine quality materials, versatile yet compact

I bought this bag for a two-week trip to Europe. I wore it every day I was out and about -- both front-facing and as a backpack. It was light enough to carry around and did not get in the way of my shopping (leaning down, etc.), or eating at restaurants, yet had individual slots and compartments for my passport, ID, credit card, emergency cosmetics, water bottle, and even an umbrella!

I ended up preferring to carry it slung across my back because it was more comfortable that way. The strap is designed to be thicker as it nears the top of the bag. This design feature, while super for back-wearing, made the strap rub the side of my neck when I carried the bag on my chest. So that was the only negative. Wearing the bag on my back didn't worry me though, because both the zipper closures lock with carabiner-style locks.

I mentioned the water bottle. You can fit an entire 20-oz bottle of water inside the middle compartment of the bag and zip it up. This was a happy discovery after I received the bag and tried it out. This left the outside mesh compartment for my compact umbrella, which I needed almost every day!

Fantastic bag. Great materials and superb construction. Looks great, minimalist and modern, but rugged looking.
Unfortnately I had to return this becasue it was not big enough for my daily commute.

Here's are the items that DO FIT:
1. 12oz Poland Spring water bottle (or smaller)
2. Umbrella
3. 12oz Thermos
4. A small phone charger
5. A few pens and small utensils
6. A 600 page novel
7. A small snack (protein bar and the like)

It did not fit my lunch jar so that's a deal breaker.
Double the size of this bag and we have a winner here.
And it looked a bit small on me, I'm 5"8' and 195 lbs.
Too bad.
I will however look into other Travelon bags.

Pull up your zipper ... or not

I enjoyed this bag for the past three months. I understand it's a bag for safe travel and a bag that helps ward off thieves with its added security features. Unfortunately, this bag may have been designed for just travel and not daily use. The bag was adult owned, not abused in any sort of way, and kept reasonably well. The front zipper tab popped off one day as I was opening the front compartment to fetch my phone. I tried to wiggle the piece back in after bending the metal with my fingers just a little and a second piece broke off. The bag overall seemed to be of good quality, just not so much the zipper tabs. My bag could have just been a fluke in their production cycle. Others may have had this bag for longer without issue, but it's just going to be my secondary carry-around now. Won't take it to my trips abroad. For the price, I paid a little over $10/month for use. I am unable to justify that and would not recommend this product at this moment. May move on to PacSafe.

Water bottle holder is useless

I bought this for an overseas trip and used it daily for shore excursions and day trips. This size is good for carrying one day's supplies of snacks, camera batteries, travel umbrella, etc. I bought a small travel wallet with a built in hoop that I attached to the "key holder" inside the backpack for extra security. The multitude of interior pockets are unnecessary and just added weight if you use a wallet with the backpack. The external water bottle pocket is useless if your are right handed. I used the backpack over my left shoulder so I could slide it around to my right side without taking it off and access the contents with my right hand. This leaves a water bottle "dangling" in the water bottle holder. Even when wearing the pack on my back, the water bottle is "dangling" and falls out. The first time I used it with my Thermos water bottle, it dropped out and dented the bottle and broke the lid, so it was not available for the rest of the trip. Even plastic disposable water bottles fell out. The bag either needs water bottle holders on both sides so that at least one is usable, or better yet, an elastic anchor strap to securely hold water bottle in place. The external water bottle pouch was the one thing that sold me on this daypack, yet it proved to be almost useless when I used it for real world activities.. A major design flaw so far as I'm concerned. Good security features, but useless water bottle holder.

I took this on a recent 4-day trip to Disneyland. I loved it! I used a fairly wide water bottle, and it accommodated it nicely. Inside, there are many compartments to stow small items. I used the main section to hold my hat, wallet, and a small snack. If you're looking for something to carry a lot of items, this won't work for you. I chose this because of its smaller size knowing I would be carrying it all day. I wanted something that wouldn't hinder movement and would be light enough to be comfortable on my shoulder. There is a pad on the shoulder strap which I found to be very comfortable.
I used it as a cross body bag putting it in front of me so I could easily reach whatever I needed without constantly taking it on and off like a backpack. This was a great purchase, and I know I will be using this often when I want my hands free from holding a purse.
There are many safety features on this bag. I never had to worry about someone taking something out of it while waiting in line, or trying to grab it as they walked by me. I'm not usually concerned about those problems, but while traveling, it made me feel more secure about carrying cash and a credit card.

Perfect bag for traveling

I really love this bag. I had searched high and low on Amazon trying to save money on a travel bag, only to find that most of them only had one "security" feature. I say "security" because even what they had advertised as a security feature was minimal at best. I broke down and bought this one and I am so glad that I did. It has all the security features you could hope for at this price. It is super lightweight so I never felt weighed down and my back never hurt from having it on. I like that the water bottle holder has a zipper so that when it's not in use it is out of the way. I don't think it would handle a very tall bottle without falling out of the holder but I found a short reusable bottle that worked perfectly. I am actually contemplating using this bag for everyday use because I like it so much. It is big enough to hold the essentials but not so big that you want to try and stuff extra things in there that you don't really need. If there is one thing I would change it would be that the entire inside of the bag had RFID blocking. It would be nice to just put my cards in a wallet rather than the side holders where I misplaced them a couple of times. It does have a convenient pocket for your passport though.
