My hair is thick and can be somewhat difficult to straighten. I purchased this after buying and returning both a Chi and a Babyliss. Neither worked as efficiently as I would have liked - I don't have time in my mornings to straighten the same pieces over and over. I had super low expectations of this because of the price, but figured it was worth a shot and was pleasantly surprised. I do straighten fairly small sections at one time (same method I used with the others), but the hair is smooth after a single pass. It doesn't feel like it glides through hair as smoothly as others, but the result is much better, so I can deal with it.
