Amazing classic! I just wanted to write this review to clarify some things so folks won't be concerned about purchasing it.

1. The game is the complete game including the expansions.
2. It also has the random map generator as well as the map & campaign editors which are just important in my opinion.
3. The game has worked flawlessly on my windows 7 64 quad core laptop, so no worries there.
4.You must go to the Ubi-soft site in the link provided and once there download the app for the PC (didn't test Mac). The instructions can be somewhat deceiving from Amazon as my first time I was looking on the website to enter the code, but you don't enter it until you install the app.on your computer.
5. You do not need to have the Ubi-soft app running to play the game!!! You only need it to enter the code and download the game. So, unlike Steam and others of it's kind, it is not in my tray. I just opened the program through the HMM3 icon that I had put on the desktop.

Anyways, I hope this helps! This is, by far, the cheapest way to get this awesome game! And if you have kids who like games like Castle clash and Hero's Charge, they may really dig this classic. My son watched me playing this and now he is hooked!

It worked the first time I installed it, but the next couple of times it gave an error that the Shadow of Death CD was missing & I only had the option of multiplayer games. So, I uninstalled & re-installed & repeatedly downloaded the software to my newly-created Uplay account that was for the sole purpose of having the ability to use this game code. The first couple of times I did that, it lost my saved game but let me play single scenarios and campaigns. However, the uninstalling, re-installing technique stopped working altogether. The only reason I purchased this game code was because I lost the Play CD in the original 2 CD set. I found the CD for Heroes III Restoration of Erathia & have been able to play that lately instead. It's only one of the three from the Complete collection, but it's better than continuing to bang my head against the computer, wasting hours trying to get a $9.99 purchase up & running over and over. It was worth a try, but a waste of money, time & energy.

Oh gosh, a return of the classic.

How long it's been since I've wanted to play this game and I decided to pull the trigger despite the mixed reviews on here.

Boy am I glad I did.

The Uplay complaint is moot. You have to sign in one time and then you play from a resident spot on your hard drive. The game runs seamlessly for me in Windows 10, except for one burp in my first play but none since.

It's just as I remember, in many ways more fun than the redundant iterations later. The graphics, rather than feeling crude, give a warm nostalgic glow. And there's still plenty enough to play with in the game that all the extraneous character customizing of today's games doesn't really feel like much of a loss.

My only quibble is that I can't change the difficulty level of the campaigns. It's been many years since I played this puppy and to have it built-in at 130% seems a bit punitive. It's lost in time in my memory if it was always like this.

Still, same great game, same great fun and new great memories. And it runs harmlessly on Windows 10. Color me happy!

I LOVED playing this game when we had Windows 98, so I bought the complete digital edition that is SUPPOSED to be compatible with the current versions of Windows. However, I have been unable to play the game and feel like I have been ripped off. The game itself is a 5 star game! Heroes 3 is the only version with the hotseat feature that allows you to team up with the person sitting next to you and using the same pc. It also has a fantastic map editor that allows you to not only create your own map, but also set which artifact(s) each player (including the computer) starts with. I wish they would go back to using that map editor.

Great Game - but troubles with compatibility with Windows 7 & 10

Great game, but it has some compatibility issues with Windows 10. I will get errors which drop me to the Windows home screen and/or cause my computer to go into vapor-lock where I will have to force start my computer.

As stated though, the game itself is a gem as it always had been

*Edit 03/05/17 - Update - The game has been crashing continuously lately. I've tried using command prompts to run it on a single core using imagecfg, with no luck. I've also tried running it with no sound and compatibility modes with Windows 95/98, XP SP2 and 3 with no luck. Dropping it down to two stars as the game is great, but, unfortunately, it's become nearly unplayable.
