This is perfect for my home use

This is perfect for my home use. Forget all the comments about the lid breaking, if you use common sense and read the instructions it won't break. But if you force it it will break, just make sure the bottom is firmly locked in place and it snapped into the locking port. Thhen the top will slide in to lock without any problems.

After using this food processor for the past two months, I had two large plastic shards come off into the collard greens I was blending. I would strongly suggest that consumers strongly think twice before purchasing this product.

Refurbished! Not New!

I received a used refurbished product. This is not a new item. Food was still present on the base and the machine had an oder. Paint was chipping on the base and the control buttons were worn. I sent item back. Disappointed. Description said new when I purchased it, now the description doesn’t specify either way.

First of all, I'd like to mention that I'm a huge fan of Cuisinart products. They're always well made, easy to use and last forever. I'm an experienced cook / baker in the kitchen. I have a stockpile of cooking and baking appliances.

I thought I would downsize from my larger food processor that I've had for years. (maybe 10 years old or less).
That model was easy to assemble, the touch pad was visible and it was very easy to use.

Following the directions, the assembly of this model was complicated. Parts seem to be forced to fit.
I dont understand why this model, ( when assembled and locked in place and ready to use ) the handle is over the touch pad. Makes it a bit awkward to use the touchpad. The older model when bowl was locked in place, the handle was off to the side, the blade snapped in place, lid on and you were good to go,

With this model, the blade seemed flimsy when it was placed into position. Continuing on with assembly, I had to almost force the bowl to lock in place. I read the directions and went through the steps several times, assuming something was off and that I assembling it incorrectly. I was not.

With these issues, and saving myself lugging this appliance to UPS to return it, I will pass it on to a family member who has more patience and doesn't cook / bake as often as I do. I have zero tolerance for complicated things that should be an easy task as setting up a food processor. I't shouldn't be a struggle or that difficult, but this one is.

I wish Cuisinart still made my older food processor. It was ideal, it had a very easy set up and was easy use.

We have been using Cuisinart processors for almost 50 years. This is a simplified, sturdy model that really meets our needs. It is easier to operate and has all of the "bells & whistles" that we need for processing food. Buy it! It is a new low price to pay.

Yes! Love love love! Just be sure to read the instructions carefully for first time use. In some places it doesn't specify, but you have to have the bowl locked and the lid on BEFORE plugging in. I went through two before I figured this out, I thought the power wasn't working on either one.

NOT dishwasher safe!

Right up front, the advertisement lies. The removable parts are NOT dishwasher safe - in fact, the first time I ran the removable parts through the dishwasher the center tube became warped. Not much, I could still fit the blade over it, but enough to form a very distinct oval. I would have returned the item had it not been for the fact that someone in my household was so happy at receiving a new food processor that she threw away the box it came in. So, since the unit is still usable I decided to keep it and always wash the parts by hand, until such a time that I need a new food processor. Then I will be sure not to buy this again and rather pay more for something that really is dishwasher safe. Not recommended.

This food processor is very cheap and made of silver color plastic. The middle rod holding the blade wobbled terribly with no way to tighten up. The cheap plastic did not look like it would last even if the middle rod was solid. I returned it.

I got this a few weeks ago. I was holding off from reviewing it before I tried it by slicing or chopping multiple things. I’ve had a small food chopper in the past, and I had that for about 25 years until the top fell on the floor and broke. I’ve used that and in combination with an expensive mandolin. So, I never really felt like I needed a food processor. Fast forward a bit. My husband, Johnnie, got me this as a present. I was absolutely amazed at how fast I was able to slice 3 lbs of onions for French Onion soup. I then used it to slice all of the veggies for a Chicken Spinach lasagna and then I used it slice mozzarella and parmesan cheeses. Tonight I used it to finely chop dried French bread into crumbs for stuffed pork chops. I’ve really put this device through the paces. It’s done a good job other than with the cheeses. It left globs not shredded. It really didn’t like chopping the dried bread. It danced all around the counter. I liked the size of the device the best. It’s only two of us, so I find for most recipes the size works. For the lasagna, I first chopped the veggies then shredded the chicken in it, rinsed it out and dried with a paper towel, and then shredded the cheeses. I think a larger food processor would be too large for what I make everyday. Like with the French Onion soup, I ran it until it was full and then dumped out the onions (about 3 or 4 times). The second thing I love is how easy this is to clean. You can just pop it in the top rack of the dishwasher. Next thing I like is using the pulse function for chopping onions. I think I eat onions in about everything I make. I really love the versatility of this machine. I would definitely buy it again.

Great for everyday jobs

I stupidly knocked my Braun food processor off the counter. I loved that thing!
I had looked at many options for replacement, and the husband said he didn't use it that much so could we get something a bit smaller?
That's where the Cuisinart comes in. Has the disks for slicing, dicing and chopping and the wheel for mixing. Just for fun, I even made biscuit dough in it. I'm always, always overworking my biscuit dough. So, a couple of pulses, I had even dough with pea sized bits of butter. Nice!

I've made salsa in it, a couple of soups and basic sauces. It's very easy to use even in a less well-lit setting. The safety feature is a serious "no fooling". If the top lid is not locked into place, the motor will not engage. That may be a bit of a challenge for people with less strength.

Clean up is a breeze; I use a stiff brush and just a sponge to clean and it takes seconds.
