UPDATE: Customer support was great, and contacted me after my first review. They shipped me another version of the cable, which eliminated my problems. However, the cable is thicker & stiffer, and the ends are larger.

Original Review:

Any movement at all of my laptop or the cable and the connection is severed. The connector just isn't good enough for USB-C.

These two Cable Matters USB-C 1 ft. cables have the right length and thickness to firmly support my
two external HDD Drives (1 HP and 1 Toshiba Canvio HDD's) in a stand up position without the connection becoming loose. With the HDD's in standing position, air circulates more freely to cool the hard drives preventing heat damage. The cable's USB-C connection to my Lenovo P620 workstation also provide fast data transfer rates and I can do my work much faster than using the manufacturer's supplied HDD drive cables with USB-A connector. Also, my Lenovo P620 workstation emits cool air reaching the back of the standing HDD drives.
