How customer reviews and ratings work

Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.

5.0 out of 5 starsDEAD ON ARRIVAL...(I thought..)
Reviewed in the United States on February 23, 2022
This review has been edited... this psu works perfectly and it has increased the performance of my PC greatly! Easy install, very quiet, and super efficient. Must have power supply!

Old review. My replacement is being sent in the mail. I will change this rating if the new one works. The one I was sent would not power on my PC only my LED lights.. I troubleshooted everything I could but could not find any other solutions other than sending it back for a replacement... I hope this one works. It's not fun rewiring a PC...

Only lasted 4 months before it died completely. I submitted a warranty claim and initially I was very happy with the customer service until they would not warranty the product because they said the unit I returned was damaged during shipping. They provided me a picture to see the damage for myself and I can barely notice the damage to an already defective product. I attached a picture to show that they are looking for any excuse to deny the claim. This will be the last EVGA product I purchase. I will stick with Corsair PSU's from now on.

1.0 out of 5 stars Dead after a month.

Looks good and came with all the parts.

Worked great for about a month and then died.

First time I have had a power supply fail so quickly.

8/10/2022
Now I have to follow these instructions for an RMA:
"• Please ship your original product in a well packed sturdy box. Pack your product with at least 2" of packing material on all sides to ensure no damage is caused during transit. EVGA recommends purchasing insurance on your package with the courier of your choice in case it is damaged or lost in transit.
• Do not send your product in using a padded envelope or padded bag. It will be automatically rejected.
• Write your RMA Number on the outside of the shipping box where it clearly can be read."

I hope UPS will help me with this, I'm not a shipping expert...

1.0 out of 5 stars Really disappointed in this product. It gave me a major scare.

I've always been an EVGA fan. I wanted to upgrade to a new case and upgrade to EVGA GTX-1070 FTW video card from my basic GTX-1050. I figured while I swung everything over I'd upgrade to a larger power supply to ensure I had one that could handle the larger video card. So I bought this unit. I plugged everything in, double/triple checked everything, and fired it up. The pc made a nasty growling sound and the fan blades spun about a 1/4 turn and that was it. I didn't know what happened. So I put the pc on the bench and set it up and fired it up again. All that happened was the red CPU LED blipped on. That was it. I hooked up my old power supply and it fired up the motherboard but the red CPU LED wouldn't go out. I was so worried I fried my motherboard, cpu, and/or new 1070. So I went and bought a corsair 850W and everything came out of it fine so far. So that has me relieved. I tested the EVGA 750 GQ on the bench and sure enough it was toast. I tested my old power supply and the voltage was down a little from what it should be. I highly suggest to always bench test all power supplies before installing.

1.0 out of 5 stars Pop goes the weasel

I thought this PSU was doing just fine with about two months of use. One day I turn on a game and all of a sudden I hear a loud pop. I look around my room not thinking it was my PC that went pop. I looked back at my screen and nothing, my PC wouldn't turn on. I opened it up and stuck my nose in there and smelled a bit of smoke. But that was it no signal after that. I bought a thermaltake PSU this time and plugged it in and everything worked. I had my fingers crossed hoping nothing else was broken after that loud pop. I thought evga was a reliable company for PSU's but that turned me off because it could have damaged other components. I'll probably RMA and hopefully I'll get a replacement and just hold on to it. But I had to buy a new PSU, I couldn't wait for RMA. I need my computer, school just started and I can't go one day without it.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not the Same Quality During these Mining Shortages; Buy a "Different Brand", I didn't last two weeks

It made a loud "Pop" when turned on, luckily my MOBO had shock protection, but the Hard Drive was no longer recognized and I had to run out and buy an SSD HD.

I bought 2 of these and both failed, and just bought it December 31st and the 2nd EVGA 750w GQ in January, I also bought a 1000w EVGA GQ .. All three failed, the quality of this item has changed. I bought these because I have a 1000w EVGA GQ that has been running 24/7 the identical setup since August. Amazon wouldn't even consider replacing it or refund; just pushed me off to the manufacturer.

Like anyone trying to run a disabled veteran owned business has time for that. Thanks for trying to crush my business in it's infancy, will do the bulk of my products from newegg, better policies; also Amazon is going through the same problem ebay once did, people are selling used Items on Amazon as new, they will need to clean this up like ebay had too

1.0 out of 5 stars Waste of money, really loud
Reviewed in the United States on March 4, 2019

The pros... it does the job. The included cables aren't ketchup and mustard cables. That's it.

The cons... the fan is extremely noisy and it makes a whirring sound while your computer is on. I have tried both eco mode on and off and neither one sounds good. Eco mode has a really bad coil whine, and the included fan has an unpleasant tone and is constantly running without eco mode on. Essentially, you can't win.

You may not notice the noise if you game with headphones or if you have otherwise noisy fans in your system, but I am replacing this junk PSU with a Be Quiet! power supply. Why spend a lot of money to be left with an unpleasant experience? I wasn't expecting Great Wall quality out of EVGA.

1.0 out of 5 stars Lasted 189 Days Before Popping

Product got delivered June 9th to replace an older PSU who's time had come, installed it and every everything went great. Until today when after reassembling my PC to add a new CPU fan, my computer would only turn on for a split second before shutting down. I tried unplugging non-essentials but after the 8th try there was a loud pop, a spark shot out the back, and some smoke rose out.
I checked Newegg's and PCPartPicker's wattage calculators and my build never even made it to 575 watts.
I'm hoping that this is a fluke and will be contacting their support to see if they'll replace it.

So I bought this power supply a few months ago to I could power my stronger graphics card and i finally had a chance to install it and it won’t work. So now that I’m pass the return date I’m stuck with this hunk of junk. Also went to their website to see how to test the dam thing and used their technique using a paper clip to test it and it fried my wall socket. This will be the last time I buy any of their products and if you want to save yourself headaches and money I’d advise you to do the same.

Bought this in Aug/19 because I thought my PSU was on its way out. I was right but my estimate was way off. It didn't fail until 4/2020. I never removed this item from its packaging and when I tested it to install it was dead. Disappointed because it came with all the wires and accessories you'd get new. I knew going in there were no instructions but didn't matter because its something I can do on my own. Hope it was just an isolated incident but DOA is DOA.
