How customer reviews and ratings work

Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.

5.0 out of 5 starsDEAD ON ARRIVAL...(I thought..)
Reviewed in the United States on February 23, 2022
This review has been edited... this psu works perfectly and it has increased the performance of my PC greatly! Easy install, very quiet, and super efficient. Must have power supply!

Old review. My replacement is being sent in the mail. I will change this rating if the new one works. The one I was sent would not power on my PC only my LED lights.. I troubleshooted everything I could but could not find any other solutions other than sending it back for a replacement... I hope this one works. It's not fun rewiring a PC...

Reviewed in the United States on August 22, 2017
Only lasted 4 months before it died completely. I submitted a warranty claim and initially I was very happy with the customer service until they would not warranty the product because they said the unit I returned was damaged during shipping. They provided me a picture to see the damage for myself and I can barely notice the damage to an already defective product. I attached a picture to show that they are looking for any excuse to deny the claim. This will be the last EVGA product I purchase. I will stick with Corsair PSU's from now on.

3.0 out of 5 stars Possibly recieved a refurbished PSU even though I purchased new.
Reviewed in the United States on January 6, 2019

Product looks sturdy, fairly heavy. Here are some photos. First off the 750 GQ was missing the 24-pin PSU testing tool. Which meant I couldn't test it on arrival, and is the reason im rating this 3 stars. A product already missing something from the start is a bummer, especially since in the manual it says the product was supposed to come with it. Product also has a few dents and scratches (hopefully I wasnt sent a refurbished one).

Seeing as the product was already missing one peice I double checked to make sure every other wire in the box that was listed in the manual was there as well. They were thankfully.

Now for the actual PSU test. I'm upgrading from a 450 watt Evga bronze. After searching online TeamEvga on youtube have a video instructing how to test the PSU without the 24-pin testing tool that was missing in my box. And with that instructional video I was able to power it on. The fan spins smoothly with ECO mode off. However I noticed when I do turn ECO mode on, which is supposed turn the fan off so the PSU is silent when not under load, the PSU will make a strange whining noise. Which I think is louder than the fan itself. Not concerninly loud, but noticeable, also defeating the purpose of turning on ECO mode for noise reduction.

Overall, kinda dissapointed and concerned the product was missing something out of the box, ECO mode isn't all the silent since it makes a strange whining noise. Product had dents and scratches. Makes me concerned if this product is reliable or not. Was just glad it succesfully powered on.

If anything happens when i install this PSU I will be sure to update.

3.0 out of 5 stars IF YOU ARE REPLACING A EVGA G2 750W SWAP OUT THE SATA CABLES OR YOU WILL KILL YOUR DRIVES
Reviewed in the United States on October 26, 2020
Verified Purchase
The ground location on the SATA pins is different for some reason between models in their modular builds so you can't use the G2 SATA cords when using this model as a replacement. It will kill your drives. I don't see why the cables aren't standardized considering they are both modular products by EVGA. Otherwise I've had no issues but have to remove 2 stars for destroying 200+ dollars of drives before I realized the old cables weren't capable.

3.0 out of 5 stars Like other reviewers here

Like other reviewers here, I got a defective unit. Had to return to Amazon due to random but frequent hard crashes due to kernel power panic. Amazon was great with their replacement options, sent a replacement right out, however pretty disappointed in EVGA and their RMA process used to be top notch, now want to charge you full price just to get an RMA. The company seems to have fallen quite a bit, defective products, terrible RMA process. Thankfully Amazon saved the day and promptly got me a replacement.

Edit: Got my replacement unit from Amazon, several days in and no new crash. Upping the rating to 3 stars as it's working as intended buy Evga still has not returned my money I initially paid to them before I realized Amazon is far superior in the replacement process. EVGA is fixing to loose a long term customer over this nonsense.

3.0 out of 5 stars First one shipped with a broken 24 pin connector.
Reviewed in the United States on June 28, 2019

I'm currently awaiting a replacement, but the one cable that is actually attached to the PSU arrived broken. The 24 pin connector that attaches to the motherboard had a detached a broken pin. I tried to adjust the pin and place in back into the connector but the motherboard would not post. I have a 450-watt corsair that allows the motherboard to post.

Hopefully, this was just a lemon as I hear nothing but good things for EVGA.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good quality power supply
Reviewed in the United States on September 15, 2018

I have purchased several power supply's over the years.
I only buy EVGA.
The modular design is great and I wouldn't use any other.
BUT... This is the first one I have ever purchased without braided lines.
I didn't notice in the description or I wouldn't have got it.
But it does work and easy to install.

Pros:
Sleek design
Configurable to your needs
Has 'Eco' mode

Cons:
Mine was DOA - put in old power supply and computer booted right up. Since I bought this in December I'm past the 30 day return window. Lucky me.

May have an issue when transiting from light load to heavy load. Have a pair of them, one on the MB and its PCI cards, and a 2nd on PCI risers. The 2nd has very little load and then gets a full load on the 12V rail.

3.0 out of 5 stars Almost good

Well, the unit feels solidly built and would probably work well...if it came with all of the cables it was supposed to. Power supply came missing a number of important cables required to actually power a computer... Quite amazing.
