Do I love this bag too much? Possibly. I bought three Travelon bags (the other two: 3 compartment crossbody and signature hobo) because it's so hard to tell from pictures and descriptions which will be the best. As soon as I laid eyes on this, I knew it was the one! The quality is fantastic, it's adorable, and the size is perfect. I would use this bag even without all the anti-theft features.

It's barely tall enough to fit my 20 oz Camelbak bottle, but a regular water bottle would fit perfectly inside.There are four major compartments, plus the zippered RFID pocket inside the main compartment (I missed one in my pictures). I wish the RFID pocket was a little bigger because my wallet doesn't actually fit in it.

The straps are wide and comfortable. The bag is soft and super cute! It's cool that it comes with two different length straps. You just have to decide before you go out which length you want. I usually opt for the crossbody because I like my hands totally free. But the shorter one is great to have. The size of the bag is perfect for me. I'm only 5'1" so big bags look weird on me. This bag is fairly spacious but not at all too big. And I LOVE all the pockets!

Useful design, but all my light color jeans and T-shirts were stained by rubbing against my brand new dark navy Hobo Bag. The dye rubbed off onto my clothes in the high humidity weather of Hong Kong and Taipei where I was traveling.

I travel a lot, therefore I am quite picky when I choose the bag that I will relay on during the time I will be away. First I am looking for the
" friendliness " of the bag, and yes, there is such a thing as an annoying companion even if it is an object. Then the size and then the price. But look, I am holding everything of importance in the bag and the bag is with me all the time, so yah I am looking for a friendly companion. I want my bag to stay on my shoulder, to balance comfortable when I move, not to scratch my hand with the zipper when I reach in, and to to force me into a war when I want to put something in. Well, this Travelon Anti-Theft Heritage Hobo is really nice and friendly. Is made of thick but soft canvas, so it does not have that nylon feel. It looks ready for adventure in a rugged but not overly sporty. You can wear it on the shoulder or over the body and it stays put balanced perfectly. The zippers are not attacking you when you reach in and there is no need to struggle to put things in or to take them out. Now about the size : is about perfect. You can put in a kindle , an I pad air, a travel organizer with with your passport ,a small camera, your " plus" size phone, chargers, make- up. and you still have room to play with ... and that is the main compartment only !There is another secured compartment in front that can hold your wallet and keys and whatever you use more often but need to be secured from wondering hands, in the back of the bag there is yet another compartment that can hold a book easily, a map , sunglasses, napkins, even an compact umbrella. I have the Pewter color and is quite pleasant, the insides are a nice material that does not get dirty easily and more important , is not of a color that makes you cringe when you look inside, because frankly "pink" is way overrated and other pastel colors are good for luggage. This is a bag .What I like the most about it is the way is compartmented and how practical it is , the size and feel and even the color. I would have liked the possibility of another material beside the canvas, but I think that I would have chosen the canvas anyway . I give it five stars !

Great but Small

I love this bag. It is very attractive, but I won't be using it for the purposes I intended. I thought a bag 13x10x4 would fit my folder size laptop, but it doesn't even come close. The opening is only about 9 inches. I took photos comparing it to a US standard 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper.

I'm the type of person who has 1 purse for everything, everyday. My last purse I used for 5 years practically every day, and oh boy did I need a new one. This is that new purse.

After about 6 months of owning it, I think I can give it an accurate rating:

First of all, I immediately unclipped the smaller strap. I always use the long one, so can't comment on the durability of the smaller one, sorry.

Second, I looove all the different pockets! I can keep my coach wallet, a portable phone charger, all of my keys, sunglasses, my pocket knife, and of course my femine hygiene products comfortably. It will easily fit a water bottle.

Third, I would give the strap itself 3 stars. It's not that comfortable. The length I like makes the metal adjustment thing sit right on my shoulder, which is kind of a design flaw. If you use the shorter strap you probably will be fine.

Overall, it's a great purse for everyday use and holds up well. Maybe not comfortable to use on a trip where you're walking around all day, but it's perfect for me!

Quality decreased. No longer the purse that is pictured

The quality went down. I bought this same bag less than a year and a half ago (Sept '18). Was very excited to get a new one as my old one was wearing out. There are some changes they did not mention and do not picture in the listing. The decorative seem going down the front pocket is gone. The rivots on the sides below the strap are gone. There is a whole pocket missing! It wasn't one I used often, but it was nice to have because it was pretty hidden, so if I had something I didn't want found, even if someone was checking through my purse I could hide it there. Gone. Without mention.

Long story short, it is no longer the purse that is pictured. I tried to capture the differences I noticed so far in my pictures.

Note that on my old purse I replaced the strap with a leather one I got off an old bag, so ignore that.

I'm very disappointed, as I loved my old purse and was hoping, since it hasn't been that long, and the price is actually higher now, that the purse would be the same. It's not.

This bag is better than I anticipated!!! I ordered it hoping it would replace my camera bag for a trip to Europe. It's the perfect size to fit my Nikon D5000 with lens attached and a few other items. It's design is trendy and it is light and comfortable. I would highly recommend. Photos included to show size and how a camera body and lens with a cross body strap fits nicely in the main pocket.

Too small for travel

I just came back from a trip using this bag. It is way too small for travel. It is the size of a purse. It is divided into two small tight sections, one with a zipper and one with a magnetic clasp. Each section holds only a few items, such as a wallet, comb, a pack of tissues, a pair of glasses. It does not fit a small book except if you stand it up in the section with the snap, and cram everything else next to it, but then you can't close the clasp. If you buy small souvenir items, they will not fit in the bag. Because the sections are so tight, extracting items from the purse is difficult. On the plus side, it is a shoulder bag, which is what I was looking for because I don't like lifting a strap over my head every time I want to put it down. Before I bought this bag, I bought the Travelon Slim Cross Body Bag which would have been the right size, but I had to return it because the strap did not shorten enough to carry it as a shoulder bag. This bag also comes with a crossbody strap. There is one zippered pocket inside the zippered compartment and zippered compartments on the outside which is convenient. It is well constructed and attractive. However, I will be looking for a new bag for my next trip.

I traveled through Europe for three weeks with this bag. I felt confident knowing the zippers were securely latched in place. It fit quite a bit when I needed it to. I carried with me a liter water bottle and other miscellaneous items. It also wasn't too big or overwhelming to carry. I was a little worried about the weight as it is heavier than a normal bag due to the theft protection aspect, but with the cross body design the weight is distributed and I never had a feeling that it was too heavy. I walked with it over 10,000 steps every day (one day reaching 9 miles walking through Venice). It seems durable and I never had any issues with the zippers or material. I've added a picture of me for size reference on a 5 foot 2 person and next to a water bottle.

I really was liking / excited about this bag but it started to break with minor use. And now I am traveling in Asia and have to deal with fixing or replacing. The tear in fabric is very annoying and causes stuff to get lost. I bought this bag after much research And really was liking it. It could be a unique flaw to this bag but be warned. Otherwise it’s comfy, cute, great pockets and functions. Maybe this review will help them improve for others.

Update! When I got back from my travels I contacted the manufacturer to see their warranty policy and it still covered! I answered their questions, sent pictures and new bag arrived. So I am updating my review. My hope is the tear was a unique failure and not going to happen on new bag. But their customer service (not amazon) and policy was terrific! So buy with (more) confidence.
