I ordered this item for pour over coffee use. As you can tell from my photos, what I received was NOT what was pictured! Very cheap plastic, very unstable when placed on top of the containers I used. (Mugs/Carafe)
The bottom picture shows that there is only a small lip for stabilizing it on your container.
Additionally, and most importantly, 4 holes!!! The water flows through so fast it doesn't "brew" the coffee at all. Terrible design! The number of holes doesn't show up in the photos for the black plastic cone online.
I'd say this is borderline false advertising... Add insult - There is NO option to return this piece of junk.
I can't say how the other cones that are shown on the page perform, but I've wasted almost $7. No refunds. Very disappointed Amazon!
This a solid, deep-hulled pour over solution, and I just love it. I had previously been using a plastic filter that had a very shallow hull. If you're like me, while you're making your coffee, you're looking at the clock, playing with your cat, answering the phone, and ordering stuff on Amazon. When you're doing this stuff you inevitably and unintentionally clobber the coffee filter and it spills all over your counter and your cat. UNLESS, you're using this deep-hulled, HIC Coffee Filter Cone. Because of its deep hull, it stays snug to your cup despite being clobbered or shaken! So I have clean counters, a clean cat and a hot mug of Joe, without the mess. I ordered two for myself (one in the dishwasher, one ready for action), and ordered two for my girlfriend (huge points!). Take a look at the video I've attached where I give this thing a good beating and it stays right on the cup! Thank you, HIC Harold Import Co.!
