My old Cuisinart (which still worked great) was 20 years old. So for my birthday, I asked my husband for this new, wonderful one. In general, it works pretty well. I also wanted the dicer, which works okay, but is kind of tricky.
What I have recently discovered is that when I want to use it to shred cabbage for cole slaw (something that was a snap with my old one) - it doesn't work well. The shredded cabbage collects in the lid, the shreds that fall into the bowl are only on one side of the bowl, and the pushers pick up pieces of the cabbage and stick - making it almost impossible to continue pushing OR to remove them.
So basically in this instance, my 20-year-old Cuisinart worked much better than the new one does.
