Used for 2 week trip to Europe. Comfortable as a backpack for walking through train stations, airport, to and from hotel through the city. Definitely not a full backpack for true hiking. Not as roomy for general packing as the Eagle Creek Load Hauler, but a more comfortable backpack setup (I tried, but returned, the Load Hauler, as the gear hauler was more comfortable as a backpack). Also has a very roomy "shoe" storage bag, separating dirty shoes/clothes from other luggage. Adds separate storage for laptop and tablet, if you need it, but that reduces your available packing space. If you aren't taking a laptop with you, then maybe the Load Hauler is all you need. Overall, great quality, solid, comfortable backpack convertible luggage.
