This is the 2004 BBC docu-drama. not the 2017 movie. It is very good, but not the 2017 movie it is lead to believe. A funny thing too. The cover art in this listing shown shows British troops overlooking the beach, but the cover art on the DVD I received shows American GI's overlooking the D-Day beaches with American landing craft with numbers showing and a fleet in the background. Not what you are expecting? It is not right to market this DVD as the 2017 Movie of the same name. It needs to be listed as the 2004 BBC docu-drama! As the 2004 BBC docu-drama, I rate it Five Stars, but in this listing for what is sold, I am rating it three!

Please know that this is not the current movie release but an older BBC film. It is a good film.

I found this a very good docu-drama concerning the events around the Dunkirk evacuation, and enjoyed the great cast hired to do this film. Yes the title may mislead some, but that is why you read the discription before purchase. This show war on a personal level, and how feelings, and can rule outcomes, that war is not pretty, or fun, it is killing, pain and madness both on the large and small scale.

This movie, while good for its time, is not the recently released Nolan directed movie of Dunkirk. I suspect that BBC is laughing their arses off while reaping the rewards of ill gotten gains.

When I would read or see a movie about WWII Dunkirk seemed to be a small operation. Now that I've seen the movie I realize that it was very long and extremely event. I prefer getting detailed information on a single action of the war than than a quick synopsis of a four and a half year war.

This is not the movie that came to theatres. But is a pretty good document do not get fooled into buying it.
