WOW! What a great book! Matt Goulding’s 3rd book PASTA, PANE, VINO from Roads & Kingdoms takes you on a culinary adventure across all the regions of Italy. From the globetrotting buffalo mozzarella makers of Puglia to Ragu Nonna’s of Savigno, this book covers it all. The challenge? Just as Goulding & Anthony Bourdain share in the foreword, how do you get a book on Italian food & cooking right?
All I can say it this book got it right and has me purchasing tasty charcuterie, Salumi, pasta and in search of the best Ragu the SF Bay area has to offer. I’m hungry for more with each chapter. Goulding has the ability to capture the moment, smells and tastes so well that I find myself salivating while reading! And the vividly colorful photos bring you that much closer to the food and interesting people he meets along the way.
I really enjoyed his 7 day hike/walk through the Piedmont region. Who needs a car when you can walk through an area filled with culinary treasures.
Pick this book up today, you will be headed to Italy before you know it! Either on a plane or in your imagination. It is a great read by a wonderful author considerate to the history and culture of all regions.
