We bought this before Hurricane Florence so we could store water in our tub in case the power went out (we're on a well so lose water without power). With the regular stopper in the tub or kitchen sink water slowly leaks down the drain. This silicone stopper left the tub and sink completely full for five days. I really don't think any water at all leaked out. Fortunately we never lost power during Florence. But it's great to know we have a way to store water indefinitely for when the next storm is predicted to come through. I'll note that it did take two tries to get this stopper positioned correctly. I think the secret is to let the tub or sink fill up enough so that turbulence from the running faucet can't move the silicone disc. Then check the stopper to be sure it is centered over the drain and forming a good seal.
